Esme Clemo
I’m one of those very lucky people whose hobby is their job, a luck that’s spanned the last six years working across Woman’s Weekly, Woman, Woman’s Own, Woman & Home, Chat, Wealden Times and now, GoodtoKnow. I’ve always loved creating things and am obsessed with the interiors in my home, so if I’m not up a ladder trying out the latest paint crazes on my walls, you can find me sat at a sewing machine stitching up a new set of curtains to match.
My crafting abilities don’t stop with a needle and thread. I’m no stranger to power tools as I tackle furniture restorations or simple upcycling projects. Make do and mend might be an old phrase but it’s definitely my life’s motto, spending my weekends trawling through charity shops or antique markets to find the perfect piece to turn into something beautiful for my home.
Having recently married my husband this summer, I’m a font of knowledge when it comes to the DIY wedding scene too. I’ve covered all the latest trends and family feuds as bride-to-be columnist for Wedding Ideas magazine and I still get a rush of excitement looking at this season’s dresses and floral arrangements. Now I’ve turned my crafty talents to creating bespoke wedding stationery and calligraphy with the aim of launching an Etsy shop as a side-hustle soon.
When I’m not making, I’m clambering or camping about the countryside, looking for my next big adventure. This December I’m off to Patagonia on my biggest hike yet, my honeymoon.
