What is the John Lewis Christmas advert song for 2017?

Despite rumours that this year's song might be a cover of 'Last Christmas' by band Wham!, as a tribute to singer George Michael who tragically passed away on Christmas Day in 2016 aged just 53, the John Lewis Christmas advert song for 2017 is actually a cover by band Elbow.

Famous for their hit song One Day Like This, Elbow have taken on a 1969 classic by legendary band The Beatles called 'Golden Slumbers'. Their cover of Golden Slumbers will be included on Elbow's 'Best Of' album at the end of November. Elbow's lead singer, Guy Garvey, said providing the song to the much anticipated advert was a 'pleasure'.
