Orlando Bloom has become the latest star to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
The Hollywood A-lister, known for his roles in a number of box-office hits, including Pirates of the Carribbean, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, will appear on the children’s BBC channel in the coming weeks.
He follows in the footsteps of a long line of previous famous faces to have have appeared on the much-loved children’s show, including actors Tom Hardy, Ewan McGregor and Chris Evans and American country singer Dolly Parton.
Orlando, who shares 7-year-old son Flynn with his ex-wife, Australian Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, will be reading from We Are Together, which was written and illustrated by Britta Teckentrup.
This will be the first of two stories recorded by the 41-year-old Troy actor, and will be aired on the children’s channel on 9 November.
‘Through my travels as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador I’ve met children in countries all over the world, and witnessed firsthand how storytelling between adults and young children helps cement their bond,’ said Orlando.
‘Children light up when being taken on imaginary adventures through storytelling, and it helps their creativity grow. It was great to be a part of CBeebies Bedtime Stories.’
Other stars who have taken part in previous episodes include British Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor Eddie Redmayne, who welcomed his second child earlier this year with his wife Hannah.
Appearances have also been made by English actresses Rosamund Pike and Suranne Jones, singer George Ezra, Olympic athlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, who had her second child last year, and Sir Elton John, who earlier this year performed at the reception of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding.
CBeebies Bedtime Stories airs daily at 6.50pm on children’s TV channel CBeebies, so catch it before you put the little ones down for a relaxed bedtime.
