Speaking to GBNews, estate agent Liam Gretton shared, "As a bespoke estate agent, I often see families choosing to move closer together for support and connection. It’s clear that family unity is important in today’s digital world, whether you’re related to the Royal Family or not.

"Proximity allows for more frequent interactions, which naturally strengthens family bonds. Being closer enables Pippa and the Princess of Wales to support each other more readily, fostering a closer relationship not just between them, but also among their children.”

He added, "This move likely enhances their ability to maintain a supportive family network, which is a valuable aspect of any family relationship."

Having her sister close by is something that Kate must be extremely grateful for, especially considering her recent health struggles. If the skill shown by the kids throughout the event is anything to go by, it seems that the family have taken part in these Nerf wars before, with it being a great way to get them running around and doing some exercise without them even realising it - it's no wonder that Nerf guns are some of the best outdoor toys for kids of all ages.

Not only is the family nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, trained at the famous Norland College in Bath, Somerset, she's also been trained in a special set of skills.

Reportedly, this includes specialist security training from former military intelligence officers, including online safety and dealing rapidly with any immediate potential security risks. Not only that, it's also said she would've undertaken self-defence training led by a black belt in Taekwondo.

If that isn't enough, Prince George, Charlotte and Louis' nanny would've undertaken a skid pan driving course to learn how to control a car under any circumstances, and through adverse weather conditions. This also includes learning how to drive competently when dealing with distractions from children and any other potential hazards and risks.

Dr Janet Rose is the principal of Norland College. She's previously spoken about the skills Norland nannies would be expected to acquire, especially when caring for such high profile children as those born to Prince William and Kate Middleton. She says "Some of the more recent editions to the programme, more cutting edge that fit more with the 21st century, include the security and cyber security training with our former military intelligence officers, for example."

She adds "So some people have made jokes about 'It's James Bond meets Mary Poppins', but of course, we are not trying to turn our graduates into bodyguards. But at the same time in many respects, we want our nannies to be as fun and loving as Mary Poppins was."

Despite Prince William and Kate Middleton's strict rules that aim to keep their children's lives as 'normal' as possible and not too dominated by royal duties, they're delighted that Charlotte is learning the royal ropes from someone as 'renowned' as Anne who the source calls Charlotte's unofficial 'princess coach.'

"He [William] has a more tactile parenting style than his father [King Charles III] and wants his three children to look back on their childhoods with a feeling of being wrapped in love."

We saw the tactic in action earlier this year when William and his three kids attended a Taylor Swift concert in London. "She's very calm," Jobson said. "She's a person who wants to find solutions and rise above the noise and the drama, and I think, given what she's gone through, you don't want to waste any time on noise, on drama, when you've had anything to do with your health.

But instead of putting his foot down, perhaps knowing that grandparents who refuse to respect parenting choices may pay a big price, the monarch made William sign a, "Formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions," Jobson shared.

King Charles isn't the only monarch to have been unsettled by William's choice, with it also reportedly giving Queen Elizabeth II 'sleepless nights' as she worried about the worst that could happen.

But William has stuck to his decision. The family will likely, if they have not already, fly to spend their children's school summer holidays at Anmer Hall, with sources revealing that George, Charlotte and Louis will enjoy spending time out of the spotlight as they fill the six-week holiday with ‘picnics, barbecues and beach games.’

A royal expert has revealed the 'strict rules' imposed on Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' public lives by their parents - and shared why they're so important. 

It feels like we've got to see a lot of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis recently, with them all attending the Trooping the Colour parade earlier this year and, just earlier this month, Charlotte joining her mum Kate Middleton at Wimbledon and delighting royal fans with her heartwarming reaction to Kate's standing ovation.

But, really, we haven't seen all that much of them, especially when it comes to Louis as Kate won't let him join his siblings on formal engagements. And the reason is all down to a 'strict rule' imposed by Kate and Prince William on their kids, a rule that aims to strike a 'balance' between their public and private lives. 

Speaking to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond revealed, "William and Catherine have taken a very measured and mature decision to show the children gradually what life is going to be like for them... but to keep most of their lives private for now."

The rule creates a boundary for the children. It means they get to attend special occasions as royals and see what life will inevitably be like for them, but it also lets them be normal children for most of the time.

The rule keeping the kids' lives private, the expert believes, would be even stricter if it hadn't been for the shake up in the royal line of succession that pushed the kids into more prominent positions when Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022. 

"The high profile events of the past couple of years from the Jubilee celebrations to the late Queen's passing and their grandfather's Coronation have meant the children have been more in the limelight than they might otherwise," she said. 

"They can't change their destiny, but they don't have to confront it just yet except on special occasions. So I think William and Catherine have got the balance just right. The children obviously know they were born royal, but they don't have to be in the public eye very often there will be time enough for that.

"For now, their parents have made it very clear that their priority is to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible," she added.

There's a good reason as to why the couple didn't choose Diana as a first name, with royal commentator Richard Kay telling Vanity Fair, “Had it been the first name, I think it would have been terrible for the child. There would have been constant comparisons with Diana, and William wouldn’t have wanted that.”

But he did want the name to be used - and for more than just the sweet reason that it would ensure Diana is always remembered by her grandchildren. 

"When Diana was alive, William promised her when he was King [that] Diana would have her HRH restored," Diana’s friend, Simone Simmons revealed to Vanity Fair at the time of Charlotte's birth. As Charlotte was born with a HRH title thanks to her position in the royal line of succession, Simmons said that using Diana's name in his daughter's was 'his way of' giving his mother her title back.

“It’s William’s way of honouring his mother’s memory,” she added. “A way of making sure Diana’s legacy lives on. This way, she will never be forgotten.”

Charlotte's other names also pay tribute to her royal relatives, with Charlotte being the feminine of Charles in tribute to her grandfather King Charles III. Elizabeth, her first middle name, pays homage to William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, and also to Kate and Pippa Middleton who both share the middle name too.

An expert has revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton use a 'controlled  parenting' style when it comes to their three children - but what is controlled parenting? 

Each parent will have their own ideas on which parenting style is best for them and their kids, whether they prefer the gentle approach of therapeutic parenting or, on the other end of the spectrum, the more controversial style of tiger parenting.

“They are hands-on parents in a way neither King Charles and Princess Diana, nor the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip ever were. From the start they have cared for their children themselves as much as possible with minimal outside help,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!.

“This is an unusual and enlightened decision by the couple: you can’t undo the destiny you were born into, but you can make life more of a family affair than an upbringing in palaces and castles would allow.”

Royals aren't the only children who can benefit from the parenting approach, but what exactly does controlled parenting entail and how can other parents use the style?

Controlled parenting, sometimes also referred to as authoritative parenting, is a hands-on style of parenting that prioritises a child’s needs, with parents reacting to these needs and acting warmly towards their kids while also enforcing clear standards. 

It's a take on gentle parenting that includes some stricter boundaries, with parents encouraging their kids to adhere to consistent behavioural standards and, when they break from them, sympathising with their outburst while also explaining gently why they cannot act like that again. 

The approach is incredibly hands on, with one or both parents always being around to create a safe environment for their children. In the case of Prince William and Kate Middleton, this approach, according to Jennie Bond, is not only useful to keep their kids happy, but also to protect them from the public eye. 

Speaking to OK!, she said, “They have strictly controlled the children’s exposure to the pressures of public life which has bought them a good measure of privacy. They run a fun household, full of noise and bustle, music and dancing where it sounds as if the kids often rule the roost, as in most happy families."

The parenting style has also meant their kids feel free to express their 'worries and emotions' and this, in turn, has helped the youngsters to understand when and why their 'friends are feeling angry or frustrated or unhappy' too, the expert added. Still, whenever Louis does make an appearance with his family, he makes sure to steal the show and let everyone know he's there. From his ‘dancing and yawning’ during the Trooping the Colour parade earlier this year, to his many memorable moments of 2023, it doesn't matter that the youngster is only rarely seen - he more than makes up for it when he is!

Princess Charlotte's sweet reaction to the standing ovation Wimbledon fans gave her mum Kate Middleton during Sunday's final match was captured in a heartwarming video - and it's clear the young royal is proud of her mum's recovery.

After much anticipation and speculation, royal fans were delighted to see Kate Middleton take to the royal box on Sunday for the Men's Singles Final Match at Wimbledon. She looked stunning in a long purple midi dress and was accompanied not only by her sister Pippa Middleton, but also her daughter, Princess Charlotte. 

The public appearance marked her second outing since news of her cancer diagnosis broke, news that was likely 'sugarcoated' for Prince George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and the crowd reacted with bountiful cheers and applause as she walked into the event. 

“When [Kate] usually comes in, she walks down the steps and into her seat. She doesn’t normally stand and wave. But she stood for a while and took it all in. For her to acknowledge it and take in the applause was special," royal photographer Karwai Tang told PEOPLE of the sweet moment. 

The standing ovation not only moved Kate, but also clearly Princess Charlotte too. As the crowd applauded, the youngster could be seen grinning at her mum, pride evident on her face as Kate took in the adoration. 

It wasn't the only sweet moment from the event captured on camera. Karwai Tang also revealed that he snapped many great photos of Kate and Charlotte as they enjoyed the nail-biting match and enjoyed watching the mother and daughter spend a girls day out after all the pressures they've faced so far this year. 

Speaking about one heartwarming moment, he revealed, "[Charlotte] skipped down the stairs and when she got back to her seat — she was laughing. She leaned over and must have told her mom what it was about and they were giggling together and having a good old laugh.

“You can tell that all three of them were enjoying themselves — Charlotte is following the game like her mother. You can see their excitement.”

Queen Camilla has divided opinion after giving a new puppy the same name as one of her five grandchildren.

The name is the same as her youngest grandchild's, Freddy Parker-Bowels. He was born back in 2011, making him the youngest by only two months, and he had a starring role his grandmother and King Charles's coronation, being one of the pages of honour alongside Prince George.

The choice of name is an adorable one but it's connection to Camilla's grandchild has reignited an age-old conversation about pets and children sharing names. Camilla seems to be in the minority of people who have named dogs after children, but naming children after past pets is a huge trend - though there is a big divide between those who love the idea and those who think it's a questionable place to find inspiration. 

"Don't name your baby after a dog. If you look online or in a baby name book you're bound to find a name you can both agree on," one baby naming expert from BabyCentre said. While another added, "If you really love the name and that's what you want to call your baby, then that's what you should do. Personally, I couldn't have a baby with the same name as my dog."

"I've always thought it would be tricky to have a dog and a baby with the same name. Whenever you call that name, neither the dog or the baby will know which one you are talking to," said another. 

Another expert added, "My beautiful dog Summer passed away in June. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I've decided to use Summer as a middle name if I have a girl. I miss my dog very much and want to keep her memory alive. So I think it's a great idea."

A new Royal ban will come into force for Prince George next year, separating him from his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton when they do one very normal activity - but the reason why is quite understandable. 

Prince George's prominent position in the royal line of succession, that will see him become King after his father Prince William, means he can't do a lot of things other children his age have the chance to. For one, he can't go into his dream career that has a sweet link to his uncle Prince Harry, and soon he won't be able to do one very normal thing with his family thanks to his role as heir. 

As of July 2025 when the youngster turns 12-years-old, he will be banned from travelling alongside his parents.  

That's because royal protocol prohibits certain royals from travelling together, namely banning heirs to the throne being together. Therefore, William and George  will be unable to join one another in the same plane whether they're going on a family holiday or to a royal engagement. 

The ban was brought into use to protect the royal line of succession, ensuring that it remains stable should there be an accident that endangers multiple heirs. 

The fact was revealed by King Charles's former pilot, Graham Laurie, who told OK! Magazine that the rule was enforced when William turned 12 in 1994 and forced him to travel on a different plane to his father. 

Laurie shared of his experiences, "We flew all four: the Prince [Charles], the Princess [Diana], Prince William and Prince Harry, up until Prince William was 12 years old. After that, he had to have a separate aircraft and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty.

"When William became 12, he would fly normally in a 125 from Northolt and we would fly the 146 out with the other three on."

However, with William and Kate's focus on keeping life as normal as possible for George until he can fully understand the weight of his impending royal position, it's likely that William will fly in a separate plane to his family once the royal rule comes into use, letting George travel with Kate and his two siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

King Charles may also step in to reverse the rule as it can be broken with written permission from the monarch.

A new study by sporting brand ASICS has revealed that tennis players, no matter their ability to play the game or length of time playing it, are more focused and energised when compared with non-tennis players, and are 26% more positive in their attitude.

On top of this, they are also better able to cope with stress - which is a great attribute for George in particular as his mother's health struggles, his final year at his current school, and his royal future at large loom over him. 

As for the physical benefits, fitness expert Tim Benjamin told HELLO! Magazine, "Tennis based-workouts are a great way of developing all-around fitness: cardio, speed, agility and balance.

"Many people think that tennis simply relies on your arms and wrists. In reality, the movements and actions in tennis require your whole body. Even actions that seem simple at first, like hitting a ball, require your whole body to be in sync," he explained.

"I mean, although she'd packed so much into her life, she was just being launched onto the world stage with the landmines campaign, with work around the world, and when it was cut short, and that's where Harry and Williams passion takes over. 

"Both of them in their own way, want to continue down as work and finish that legacy. That's their passion, I have to admire them both to continue along their mother's path."

But, the butler adds, "Harry can’t continue to work in the same vein as his mother because he’s no longer royal."

He explains, "Harry has great conflict in the fact that his mother was a member of the royal family, his mother supported the royal family until she died and Harry has bolted from the stable and he can't continue the work in the same vein that his mother did because he's no longer royal. 

"You've got to look where they are in the world. Harry just can't do it to the same effect. He can't do it the way William can and so I'm afraid it's going to be down to William to complete his mother's work."

"There have been times in this past year when William has looked incredibly alone, shouldering the responsibility of being a son whose father has cancer, a husband caring for his wife as she also deals with cancer, a father of three young children... and who has no brother or mother to turn to for a bit of TLC," former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine. 

She added, "That was the phrase that Diana used so often, especially in our chats together at Kensington Palace. She always said that she was incredibly good at giving tender loving care [TLC], and she obviously would have given that in buckets full to her darling son.

"There are other members of the family who have given William all the support they can, but nothing really replaces a loving mother who will protect and guide you."

But while he is missing his mother, he is making sure to carry on her legacy and working hard to do what she can no longer, including with a project inspired by his mother that he hopes will keep his kids' feet on the ground, something that Bond says she would be incredibly proud of.

"William’s greatest tribute to his mother is his determination to carry on her legacy, particularly on issues such as homelessness and mental health," she said. "And he is bringing his children up with the same values that Diana instilled in him."

This determination isn't something that came naturally to William, but, as he revealed in the ITV documentary Diana, Our Mother, something he honed to make sure he could become somewhere Diana would be 'proud' of. 

Speaking about his mother's death, William shared, "It’ll either make or break you. And I wouldn’t let it break me, I wanted it to make me. I wanted her to be proud of the person I'd become.

"I didn't want her worried or her legacy to be, you know, that William and/or Harry were completely and utterly devastated by it."

It's nearly time for that long, luscious summer break. As kids gear up for their upcoming school summer holidays, before they head back in September, for parents, it's time to start thinking about the best and worst sun creams for the warmer days and stocking up on outdoor toys for summer that will keep kids entertained. 

Many will also be planning their holidays - especially as increasing school fines for holidays in term times have left many to only go away during the breaks. That's exactly what the royals are doing too, with one expert saying that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are looking forward to visiting their 'go-to' holiday destination with their parents Prince William and Kate Middleton.  

“If Catherine’s medical condition allows, they will perhaps have a few days in the Scilly Isles – which is one of their ‘go-to places’ where they are pretty much left alone to enjoy the beaches and countryside during precious family time,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine.

“But if her treatment means she has to stay closer to home, they’ll love hunkering down at Anmer Hall [in Norfolk] – perhaps with some of the cousins and family visiting them there."

The break is especially important for the family this year following Kate's shock cancer diagnosis. She reportedly has big plans to make this year’s summer holiday ‘memorable’ for her kids and visiting their favourite hotspot is integral to that.

Bond added, "This year has obviously been incredibly difficult for all of them. But, as the picture issued for William’s birthday of them jumping off a sand dune which was taken by the Princess of Wales shows, they are doing all they can to leap for joy at the prospect of things getting better.

“Ever since her diagnosis, their absolute priority has been to keep life with their children as normal as possible. So, having their cousins from both sides of the family around will be exciting for the children.”

Another exciting element of the summer break for George especially is that, when he returns to school in September, he will be entering his final year at Lambrook School which he attends with his siblings. However, the expert believes that William and Kate will try to keep George's excitement, or understandable worries, about going to a new school the following the year to a minimum while they enjoy their holidays. 

She said, “Even though George is approaching his last couple of years at Lambrook School, I’m sure William and Catherine want him to feel as settled as possible at this difficult time and so won’t be making a song and dance about what lies ahead and where he’ll go to school next.

"I think this summer will be one of focusing on Catherine slowly healing and getting stronger – joining in as many family activities like picnics, barbecues and beach games as possible and showing the children that despite the challenges life throws at you, a family that stands together, plays together, cries together and laughs together can get through the bad times and look to a much brighter future.”

A sweet handwritten letter penned by the late Queen Elizabeth II has gone up for auction and it's details reveal how she felt after giving birth to her second child Princess Anne - and it also proves where the royals get their humour from!

It's oftentimes easy to forget that the royals, while holding prominent positions in the royal line of succession and living seemingly vastly different lives to those not in The Firm, are at their core just people trying to live their lives and navigate the same trials as us all.

The letter was sent to the then-Princess Elizabeth's midwife Helen Rowe, whom she affectionately calls Rowie in the writing. Dated 4 October 1950, the letter details how she and Prince Phillip were handling becoming parents of two after welcoming Princess Anne into the world just two month prior. 

She was only 24-years-old at the time but shared with her midwife and friend that she was feeling 'stronger' everyday as she cared for her newborn and a nearly two-year-old then-Prince Charles - who was the butt of a hilarious joke his mother shared with Rowie.  

"We are all getting on very well up here and I am feeling very much stronger already," the royal wrote as per reports in PEOPLE. "Charles is getting fatter as he has an enormous appetite and takes a great deal of exercise. I find it extremely difficult to explain it away when he looks at something he can’t reach and then turns his back meaningly on me and says, 'Mummy, lift!'"

The joke proves that both King Charles, who recently shared a great dad joke during an important speech, and Prince William, whose dad jokes Princess Charlotte 'loves', clearly get their humour from the late Queen. 

Elizabeth's letter continued, "He enjoyed the train journey far more than Anne, who wasn’t too keen on the rattling to begin with, but she has steadily been putting on weight up here and has got lovely pink cheeks after she has been out. The sugar in her foods is gradually going up, and she doesn’t seem to be nearly so ravenous, often sleeping right up to bottle time.

"The children’s grandmother is spoiling her eldest quite openly and will do so with Anne if she got a chance!" she added, giving a sweet insight into the family dynamic.

Speaking at the state banquet thrown to welcome Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako to the UK, he showed off the pop-culture knowledge he's picked up from his three young grandchildren, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, and rivalled even his son Prince William, whose dad jokes Princess Charlotte loves, with his witty remark.

A royal expert has revealed how Prince William is carrying on the charity work his late mother Princess Diana began with an 'ambitious' project - and he's using it to help keep his kids’ feet on the ground too. 

The careers, interests, and hobbies of parents and grandparents have a profound impact on the generations that come after them, from the way grandparents inspire new interests in grandkids to how parents lead their children into similar careers as them - as happened with one Bridgerton star whose actor parents are incredibly famous stars of the screen.

It's no different for Prince William. Of course, while he had no choice but to become a working royal like his parents due to his position in the royal line of succession, his late mother Princess Diana instilled some very important interests in him, namely his  interest in ending homelessness. 

As a young boy, Diana took both William and his brother Prince Harry to experience first hand the struggles faced by those experiencing homelessness and it clearly had a profound impact on William as he's now working on a project to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness, making it 'rare, brief, and unrepeated.'

Not only this, but he is also now the patron of homeless organisations such as The Passage and Centrepoint, the latter being his mother's favourite charity. 

Speaking to OK! Magazine about Diana's influence on her son, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said, "The scourge of homelessness is something his mother made him aware of when he was just a young boy.

"Which other young Prince had ever been shown what it’s like to live on the streets, been taken to visit hostels for the homeless and learned at first hand what it’s like to be down and out? Diana must take much of the credit for making William into the person he is, and for his determination to make some real changes to our society."

But not only has Diana made William determined, she's also inspired him to be brave and prepared for failure. Bond said of William's plans, "It is one hell of an ambitious project: to show that it’s possible to end homelessness and is something that no government has ever even approached.

"It’s brave to set yourself up for possible failure. The task is a huge one and good on William for trying to make a difference."

William is also keen to get his own three kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, involved in his charity work, just as his mother did with him. 

He previously said that the youngsters 'will definitely be exposed' to the impact of homelessness as they grow up as he's keen to remind them that their lives are incredibly privileged - though exactly how he's going to do that, he's unsure of. 

"I think when I can balance it with their schooling, they will definitely be exposed to it [homelessness]. On the school run, we talk about what we see. When we were in London, driving backwards and forwards, we regularly used to see people sitting outside supermarkets and we'd talk about it," he told the Sunday Times in an interview. 

"I'd say to the children, 'Why are they there? What's going on?' I think it's in all our interests, it's the right thing to do, to expose the children, at the right stage in the right dialogue, so they have an understanding."

He added, "They [will] grow up knowing that actually, do you know what, some of us are very fortunate, some of us need a little bit of a helping hand, some of us need to do a bit more where we can to help others improve their lives."

"It was quite sweet the way she stood in front of her and they kept chatting. Charlotte seems to be very full of admiration for her mother, which I think is a lovely thing, too."

Royal photographer Samir Hussein agreed with Seward, adding, "Princess Charlotte is very like her mother in her mannerisms and you can see she looks up to her a lot.

"She's really taken on that role to help keep them in check a little bit," he added. "She's definitely a little mini-mum taking on that responsibility as well, which is fun to see."

Of course it's natural for a child to want to care for the parent when they're struggling with their health, but we can't help but think that perhaps Charlotte in particular is taking on the responsibility of both caring for her mum and looking after her brothers as a 'mini-mum' for a different reason too. 

Eldest daughter syndrome explains how eldest daughters, like Charlotte, tend to mature quicker than their siblings as they're encouraged, often subconsciously, to step in and help out their parents with bringing up other members of their family.

"Kate and Charlotte are great friends and I think to Kate, their bond is very precious," Seward explained. "The mother-daughter relationship is obviously particularly important to Kate because she has such a close relationship with her own mother, Carole Middleton. 

"They are a very, very close family, which is something the late Queen really liked and thought would play into Kate's hands and the position that she was getting into. She had such a stable family and I think that's what Kate's trying to replicate."

Prince William and Prince Harry inherited most of their mother Princess Diana's £13million fortune when she died but there is one vital family heirloom they will never get to own; Princess Diana’s family home. So who will inherit it?

The real heir to the vast estate is, surprisingly, an actor. It will pass down to Louis Spencer, William and Harry's cousin, the son of Diana's brother Earl Charles Spencer who currently owns the estate. 

The heir is all the more surprising as he has not one, not two, but three older siblings. That's because, while the royal line of succession was amended to not let daughters loose their positions when younger brothers were born, the lineage of the earldom has had no such update and Louis' three older siblings, all sisters, will miss out. 

Louis' sister Kitty understands the rules around the lineage but has admitted that it's a 'tricky' topic. In an interview with Town and Country, she previously shared, "Primogeniture can be a tricky topic, because as times are changing, attitudes are as well. While Prince William and Prince George donned blue for the concert, Princess Charlotte clearly knew the unofficial dress code, and followed it with gusto. For most Swifties attending the Eras tour, the 'secret' code includes wearing something sparkly and something similar to one of the singer's albums. Charlotte's dress hits the sparkly note, and the yellow colour alludes to the main colours worn by Swift when she performed songs from the album Fearless.

A friend of Prince William’s has revealed that his plans for the future of the monarchy don’t include his youngest children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - so what will they do when they grow up? 

Ever since King Charles III took to the throne, his plans for streamlining the monarchy have been a hot topic. Largely, we haven't seen any streamlining, especially since both the King and Kate Middleton, who is a senior member of The Firm, have been out of action due to their health struggles. 

But while King Charles hasn't executed his plans to have less working royals, it appears that Prince William may undertake the same approach when he becomes King - and two very important royals are being left out of his future plans because of it.

Speaking to GBNews, a close friend of the Prince of Wales has revealed that his two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will not become working royals when they grow up despite sitting third and fourth in the royal line of succession as their dad has a new vision for The Firm that doesn't include them. 

"When the older members of the family retire, His Royal Highness won't be inviting anyone else to become working royals. It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals."

The source added, "He [Prince William] sees the small European monarchies as the model for the future."

So if Charlotte and Louis will not join their brother Prince George, who is heir to the throne, and become senior working members of the Royal Family alongside the current top members, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh, what will they do instead? 

It's likely that they will follow in the footsteps of royal relatives like Lady Louise Windsor, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie - or perhaps Zara and Mike Tindall. All of them have 'normal jobs,' and have undertaken a range of passions through their work, from Lady Louise working part-time in a garden centre to Princess Beatrice working as a strategist at a technology firm called Afiniti. 

If they do follow their own dream careers, it is possible that Charlotte could become a nurse. In the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, a source told The Mirror that the youngster was impressed by the NHS's work and revealed to her parents that she wanted to work in a hospital. 

"She’s obviously just a little kid but still, Will and Kate swelled with pride. She’s such a caring little girl who also knows what she wants, so they wouldn’t be surprised if she does take on nursing as one of her big causes when she’s older," they revealed.

It wasn't just George looking out for his mother, Princess Charlotte was too - and in a surprisingly 'maternal way' according to the expert. 

"Charlotte's body language appeared to be protective, which demonstrated that she is stepping up to support her mother, Kate - she was acting almost like her right-hand woman," she explained. "The way she looked up at her mother was in an adoring and somewhat maternal way and this demonstrated her sweetness and showed how the princess is maturing and is now looking out for her mother, almost like the role of a caregiver."

But while Charlotte was looking out for her mother, she was also looking up to her and mirroring her behaviours to continue learning how to be 'the perfect royal. 

Hibbert said, "Sitting opposite Kate, Charlotte showcased behaviours and movements typically done by Kate, smiling over her shoulder at the crowds and waving enthusiastically. And just like Kate, Charlotte's smile was almost constant.

"As they assembled at the window of Buckingham Palace, Charlotte's support continued. Standing at the front of the group next to Louis, she was wearing a beaming smile as she looked down on the parade, mirroring her mother’s techniques like the perfect Royal."

Beginning the family tree with King George III and Queen Charlotte, historian Suzie Edge draws a simplified family tree to get us to today's Princess Charlotte because, as she says, the royals of old 'had a lot of children' and that can confuse things pretty quickly. 

The child of Charlotte and George that we're most interested in is their third son, Edward. He himself never became the monarch but when his eldest brother died, and then his second brother did too, both without a legitimate heir, his daughter Victoria became Queen. 

Victoria's son Edward became King, then so did his son George, and then so did George's son who was also called George and became King George VI - are you keeping up so far? 

George VI's daughter then became Queen, known as Queen Elizabeth II and we now get into the royal line of succession as we know it today. Sweetly, the expert believes his remark also concerned the royal fans who had lined the Mall outside the Palace, with many onlookers in the huge crowd starting to put up umbrellas just before Louis' worry began to show. 

But the rain soon eased and so did Louis' concern. According to body language expert Adrianne Carter, the youngster's 'lovely and bright personality' came out on multiple occasions even if he did grow 'bored' a number of times. 

"Louis is getting bored; he's starting to mess with things," she told The Mirror. "This is a sign that Louis is still the lovely and bright personality that we've come to recognise. Louis's big yawn was unspotted by Kate so he was able to give it his all!"

A parenting expert and author has revealed the 'authoritative parenting' tactic Kate Middleton relied on to keep Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in line during the Trooping the Colour parade last weekend. 

Royal fans across the globe were delighted to see Kate Middleton at Trooping the Colour last weekend, celebrating King Charles's public birthday alongside her husband Prince William and their three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. 

It was her first public appearance since the Royal Family's Christmas Day walkabout last year, with the royal taking some much needed time away from royal duties to recover, rest and recuperate from her chemotherapy treatment. 

But just because she's been away for a while, that doesn't mean a whole lot has changed. In fact, for her first appearance back in the spotlight, Kate relied on age-old parenting tactics to keep her kids in line as they watched the parade - but even her tried and tested methods couldn't stop her youngest son Louis ‘dancing and yawning’ during the parade. 

Dr Rebecca Chicot, a parenting expert, founder of Essential Parent and the author of Calm and Happy Toddler revealed of Kate's parenting method to OK! Magazine,  “Kate is a sensitive and warm mum," and uses an 'authoritative style of parenting that is now encouraged' by experts. 

While the word 'authoritative' evokes images of strict routine and rules, authoritative parenting is actually not all that different from gentle parenting. Just like the gentle style of parenting, authoritative parenting encourages parents to be nurturing and responsive to their child’s needs in order to create a 'secure attachment' for them but also tells them to limit unwanted behaviour with firm rules. 

Childcare Consultant, Ashley Board previously told us of authoritative parenting, "Research shows children’s developing brains need consistency and boundaries to encourage growth and development, yet their brains are emotionally immature. 

"Other parenting methods do not allow for the understanding and development of emotional intelligence while also instilling boundaries and consistency, allowing the brain to evolve and advance to its full potential instead of focusing solely on need."

But while it makes sense to many parents to take this approach, it can still be difficult, especially as telling kids off can often lead to upsetting them and then the parent feeling guilty. As Dr Chicot points out, this is even harder for Kate as she often has to parent in a very public setting - though she seems to take it in her stride. 

“It’s very hard for any parent to have to parent in public,” she said. “She seems to be good at making warm contact ‘touch to the head’ which is a nice connection. She gets down to their level to talk to them but lets them be children.

“She has a lovely balance of sensitivity and gentle boundaries. She doesn’t expect them to behave like little adults and knows that children go through perfectly natural stages like tantrums," she added. 

Kate's approach has been inspired by many different family members who came before her, both royal and not. The royal once revealed how her ‘amazing’ grandma has impacted her parenting approach and the influence of her mother-in-law Princess Diana is plain to see in the way George, Charlotte and Louis lead relatively normal lives away from the public eye.

To mark Father's Day, the three youngsters posted to Instagram for the first time ever. While their pictures have been posted to the social media platform before to mark occasions like their birthdays, the captions have always been signed off by their parents, Prince William or Kate Middleton, with a W or K to show who has written it. 

However, for Prince William's Father's Day message this year, the caption was signed 'G, C & L,' suggesting that the three kids were the ones to choose the caption's message themselves.

Everyone knows how incredible Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' paternal great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, was. But did you know the youngsters also have an 'amazing' and inspirational maternal great-grandmother? 

Back in 2020 to celebrate the work of the Red Cross, Kate Middleton shared the story of her grandmother Valerie Middleton who worked as a code breaker during WWII. 

She revealed that Valerie worked at the infamous Bletchley Park office where codebreakers broke the Enigma code and deciphered the Nazi's secret messages which ultimately lead to the end of the war. On top of this, she also served as a Voluntary Aid Detachment and nurse with the British Red Cross during World War II. 

In a letter sent to the charity, as reported by The Express, Kate wrote, "I would like to thank and remember the many thousands of staff and volunteers who, over the years, have contributed tirelessly to the organisation's work, including my great-grandmother, Olive, and my grandmother, Valerie, who both served as a Voluntary Aid Detachment with the British Red Cross.

"Olive during the First World War and Valerie during the Second World War. Like you and many others, they are both part of the rich history of the British Red Cross, which is helping to ensure many people get the support they need during a crisis."

It's an incredibly inspirational story for George, Charlotte and Louis, likely instilling in them the important value of helping people and working hard to support those in crisis. But not only is their great-grandmother a great role model in the working world, she's also an inspiration for Kate when it comes to her parenting style.

"I'm wondering if perhaps we might see the Wales children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis," she said of both the parade and the Buckingham Palace appearance the royals make after it.

"They've been up there several times now. They are always impeccably behaved, often entertaining, and they always seem to enjoy it. It wouldn't surprise me at all if William makes the decision to bring them," she added.  

"They're not working members of the royal family yet, but they will be. Prince George is a future king, so for the public to be able to see George, Charlotte and Louis on occasions like this is really quite important."

She also believes that Kate may make an appearance on the royal balcony, "if she feels well enough," though it has previously been reported that she will only return to royal duties once she's been given the green light from her doctors. 

Nicholl explained, "We were told when she was diagnosed that we weren't going to be getting regular updates, that she was going to be taking this time out of the spotlight. I think it's just difficult for people to adjust to to not seeing the Princess of Wales at important days. It does take some time for the public to sort of adjust to not seeing the Princess of Wales... but she needs this time out of the spotlight. She really needs this time to recover."

Royal fans have loved seeing the youngster accompany his dad to various football games this year, with both them and experts pointing out how much George has grown up to be the spitting image of his father. 

The father and son outings have been especially important this year for them, with the father/son bonding time allowing George to let loose amid the public frenzy over his mother's cancer diagnosis.

Louis in particular might be sad about missing out on the England match in Germany as he gave the squad some brilliant advice ahead of their first match this season and likely wants to see if it has done the job. 

When William met with the England team earlier this week, he shared, "I was on the school run this morning with the children and I said 'What shall I say to the England team today?'.

"The best bit of advice I got to ask you was to eat twice the amount you normally would eat. So I then had visions of all of you running around with massive great tummies and loads of stitches on the pitch so I think maybe take my youngest's advice with a pinch of salt."

A royal expert has revealed the 'nightmare' Prince Harry faces as Father’s Day approaches and shared how he plans to celebrate the day with his dad King Charles III.

Father's Day is quickly approaching, with kids across the UK gathering the best Father's Day presents for their dads and father figures to celebrate and thank them for all that they do. 

Inevitably, the upcoming celebrations have left many fans wondering if and how Prince Harry will mark the day considering his strained relationship with his father, King Charles III.

But while the relationship is still strained, one royal expert has revealed that Prince Harry will 'certainly' reach out to his father this Father's Day, which falls close to Charles's public birthday, as, while 'it's easy to forget,' the expert has reminded everyone that Harry 'really does love his father.' 

"King Charles' birthday and Father's Day are both a nightmare for Harry. He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father," royal author and expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror. 

"He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message." 

He added, "It's easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support Prince William when there is a family dispute."

But while the expert believes Harry will call his dad this weekend, there's a much more sentimental form of communication we think he might use; a letter. 

It seems like more of a fuss than a phone call, but Harry previously revealed in his memoir Spare that his father would often write him letters as he could better get his emotions down using pen and paper than he could face-to-face. 

"He asked me to write rather than call. He loved my letters. He said he’d much prefer a letter," Harry wrote of his father. "He had trouble communicating, trouble listening, trouble being intimate face-to-face. On occasion, after a long multi-course dinner, I’d walk upstairs and find a letter on my pillow. The letter would say how proud he was of me for something I’d done or accomplished. I’d smile, place it under my pillow, but also wonder why he hadn’t said this moments ago, while seated directly across from me."

A royal expert has revealed the one 'Royal Family tradition’ Meghan Markle is keen to 'stick to' as her and Prince Harry's two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet grow up. 

It's no secret that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren't the biggest fans of many of the Royal Family's age-old traditions. But while they stepped away from their posts as senior royals back in 2020 to move their young family to Montecito, LA and subsequently left behind many of those traditions, there is one that Meghan is reportedly keen to 'stick to' as her kids, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, grow up. 

According to royal author Tom Quinn, while the royal couple are making sure to give Archie and Lilibet a 'normal' life in California, choosing not to fill their house with staff to look after their kids for them, they are 'determined' that they will attend the 'best schools' they can and have plans to enrol them into private education like their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are.

Speaking with The Mirror, Quinn said,"Meghan has always been determined that her children should grow up with a very good relationship with their [grand]mother Doria so it’s no surprise that Doria is the live-in nanny.

"One of Meghan‘s difficulties when she was a working royal living in the UK was her lack of experience of dealing with staff so in Montecito she has kept paid staff to an absolute minimum, but if she’s avoiding the Royal tradition of paying people to do the childcare, she’s certainly sticking to the Royal tradition of sending children to elite schools."

Speaking about the rumours that Harry and Meghan toured a number of private schools in their local area and have reportedly settled on a school for Lilibet that can set parents back a whopping $60,000 a year in fees, Quinn explained that Harry's experience of 'elite education' in the UK has prompted him to give his own kids the same treatment. 

He shared, "Early on there were rumours that Meghan and Harry might send their children to a local state school but that was never really on the cards. It made it look as if the couple were trying to be as ordinary as possible but no one was fooled. Apart from anything else, Harry wouldn’t countenance risking his children being educated in anything other than in an elite environment. Choosing an elite school is very much in the royal family tradition."

Prince William and Kate Middleton have long been praised for their down-to-earth approach to parenting their three kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. And, from the one important lesson Kate learnt from her parents that she's instilling in the youngsters, to using Princess Diana's golden parenting rule to keep her children grounded, it's clear that the couple are heavily inspired by their own parents when it comes to how they plan to raise their kids.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond revealed that William sympathises with the pressures his son faces and makes sure they share important 'father-and-son fun’ to let him be a 'normal' 10-year-old as well as a royal. 

This is exactly what we saw in action when the pair recently visited Wembley Stadium to watch the FA Cup Final. “He’s a handsome little boy and clearly idolises his father,” Jennie said after analysing George's appearance at the match. “Outings like this must make the two of them even closer – and they will provide a much-needed escape from the inevitable stress of home life when someone you love so much is being treated for cancer.

“I’m sure that, behind the scenes, he and William have some rough and tumble, father-and-son fun. And that’s the balance that William and Catherine are helping him find – princely behaviour when required and normal 10-year-old antics the rest of the time.”

Knowing how to create that balance for his son was easy for William as he experienced it himself. His mother, Princess Diana who passed away in 1997 and is buried at her childhood home, was always keen to give him as normal of a childhood as possible and he's used his own experiences in childhood to inform his parenting style. 

Bond explained, “The balance they’ve created is exactly the way Diana brought up her sons. She told me that she was determined that they would have a different outlook on life to other royal princes.

“Diana organised play days and work days for them. Days when they could wear jeans and baseball caps, eat burgers and race around on go-karts like other kids of their age, and days when they would have to wear suits and ties and behave like princes. It was an important life lesson for William… and he is following Diana’s example with George and his siblings.”

Prince William has revealed the upcoming school event that's left his daughter Princess Charlotte nervous, saying she's not ‘looking forward’ to the next few weeks before the summer holidays.

He shared the news with a nine-year-old royal fan during his appearance at a D-Day event in Portsmouth earlier this week when the youngster asked him where Charlotte was. 

"Charlotte's at school, Charlotte's got exams," he told her, bending down so they were face-to-face, a parenting tactic Kate Middleton has long relied on to better connect with children. "Yes, she's got tests – she wasn't looking forward to it this morning," he said before crossing his fingers and adding, "Hopefully it's all gone well." 

We're sure that Charlotte's big brother George is on hand to help guide her through the tests after he experienced the same ordeal last year and, as Kate revealed, didn't enjoy it one bit. 

During a visit to a Welsh high school in October 2023, Kate shared with the school's older children, "George is just at the beginning of being tested. He says, 'Mummy, I keep getting tested all the time.' But when it gets to A-levels you feel like you're on it," as reported by The Express. 

We're sure that Kate and William are helping Charlotte out wherever they can, with their hands on parenting style likely leaving them to check up on what to eat before an exam and search out ways to help focus the child brain for better revision.

Members of the Royal Family failed to publicly mark Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Princess Lilibet’s third birthday - and it's all thanks to a new royal protocol. 

For most children, birthdays are a family affair with parents throwing kids parties and entertaining friends and relatives with kids' party games ideas. But, for three-year-old Princess Lilibet, her birthday celebrations were notably missing her father's side of the family. Not only that, but Harry's royal relatives also didn't publicly send her any birthday wishes like they do every year for her cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. 

However, a royal expert has revealed that this was no surprise. Just as the family was prevented from publicly marking Lilibet's brother Prince Archie's fifth birthday earlier this year, there is new royal protocol that prohibits them from doing so. 

As explained by royal correspondent Danielle Stacey, who spoke to HELLO! Magazine, "In recent years and certainly since King Charles III's reign began in September 2022, we have only seen public messages from the royal family's social media accounts for working members of the royal family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Princess Royal. 

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, and no longer carry out royal duties. Similarly, the palace doesn't typically share messages on the likes of Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall's birthdays nor their children's special days." 

But while there was no public message wishing her a happy birthday, the BBC's former royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes that Lilibet, who sits seventh in the royal line of succession, likely received a private birthday message from her grandfather King Charles. 

She told OK! Magazine, "It would be nice to think the day might include a video call to Lilibet’s grandfather, King Charles and hopefully some sort of gift has been arranged and will be delivered to Montecito for her birthday."

Even without her royal relatives present, the expert revealed that Lilibet's party was sure to be a princess-worthy affair. She said, "Of course Lilibet is already a princess, but I’m sure her mum will still want to dress her up for her big day. After all, that’s half the fun of having a little girl.

"I expect her birthday will be full of sunshine, squabbles with her brother, fun games with her toddler friends and some delicious home cooking from her mum.

"It will no doubt be in all American affair at their Montecito mansion and I would expect to see a sprinkling of celebrities and a laid-back party, which hopefully will include some other toddlers."

A royal insider has revealed the sweet plans Kate Middleton has put into motion as she sets her three kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, up for a 'happy' and 'memorable' summer holiday away from school. 

The British weather may not yet have caught up to it, but kids and parents across the UK are gearing up for the big school summer holiday. As children start to wind down, with many pushing through the last of their exams and the exam stress accompanying them, parents are doing the opposite as they search for things to do with kids that can fill the six week break and keep kids of all ages entertained. 

And it's no different in the royal household. As Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis charge towards the end of term, their mum Kate Middleton has put her head down and is making some big plans to give the children a 'memorable' summer holiday after the past few months of them dealing with the day-to-day stresses of royal life and the fallout from her cancer diagnosis. 

According to a royal inside source, the summer months are 'going to be all about the kids' for Kate and Prince William, with the parents implementing a sweet plan to get the kids more involved in their summer activities. 

They told Closer, “The summer is when Kate just wants the kids to be kids and get to be a little freer. And this summer, more than ever, is going to be all about the kids.”

Like the Wales family do most years, they will head to Norfolk once the kids have broken up from school for the year and stay in their favourite holiday home of Anmer Hall for the duration of the break. The home's sprawling grounds and promise of privacy means that the kids can get outside 'as much as possible,' something that not only is Kate keen to get them to do, but also the children's nanny as she has a 'strict' outdoor play rule the kids must always follow when she's caring for them. 

“Every summer Kate tries to make sure that the kids are outside as much as possible,” the source said, adding that, this year, Kate has plans to get the kids to pick out what activities they should do as a family. 

They're already talking about the plans too, with the kids being full of ideas ranging from hiking to horseback riding. But while she's keen to let their imaginations run wild, the source said, “There are guidelines, of course, but Kate thinks giving them a say will make it more memorable."

Adding to the excitement of the upcoming break, George, Charlotte and Louis will hopefully be spending a lot of it with their maternal cousins. According to the source,  William and Kate plan to spend 'many weekends' with Carole and Michael Middleton as well as Kate's siblings Pippa and James and their spouses and children. “Summer is the best time for them to get together because they all live in different places,” they said. “Kate wants all the cousins to be close.

“It’s going to be a different summer,” they concluded. "But Kate’s been resting up so she can savour every moment.”
