Reese’s have launched a peanut butter-filled Easter egg, and the internet is going crazy.

2019 is shaping up to be an exceptionally good year for Easter egg lovers.

We’ve already seen the introduction of the new Marmite-flavoured ‘yeaster egg’, not to mention a whole smorgasbord of ‘ruby chocolate’ varieties. But now we’ve got something just as egg-ceptional – an Easter egg filled with peanut butter.

It came to our attention after Ashleigh Money Saver shared a post about the decadent new treat on Facebook. The post, which was shared on Thursday has had more than 900 reactions, 3,400 comments and 400 shares, not to mention a fair few ‘drooling’ emojis...

‘I want this,’ said one user. ‘Dreams are made of this.. Peanut butter dreams.’

Modelled on the iconic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, the 170g chocolate egg boats a ¼ inch thick milk chocolate shell packed with smooth peanut buttery goodness. Imported from the USA, it’s already sold out on the Amazon and Selfridges websites.

The egg is still available on eBay, but it’s in high demand, so we recommend you get in quick! And if you’re not sure you’re quite ready for the big one, you can always pick up a bite-size 34g Reese’s Peanut Butter Crème Egg from Tesco for just 50p (or 3 for £1).

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were introduced by The Hershey Company in 1928. H.B. Reese was a former dairy farmer and shipping foreman who started the company in his basement in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is now the largest confectionary brand in the USA.

And in good news for Bounty lovers, Mars has released a Bounty Easter egg with coconut pieces inside the shell.

The new treat seems to be a response to calls from fans for a coconut-filled Easter egg on social media last year.

One fan had written, ‘A Bounty Easter egg, but the actual egg filled with coconut would be nice this year.’

The 494g egg comes with one milk chocolate Bounty bar and one dark chocolate Bounty bar and is available from Tesco for £10.
