  1. Halve the avocado, remove the stone and scrape the flesh into a bowl. Add a drizzle of olive oil and salt and pepper and mash with a fork - you want to keep it chunky, rather than smooth.
  2. Add the lime juice and stir so that it comes together. Add the chilli, red onion and tomato, then stir in the chopped coriander. Mix well, then check the seasoning and add salt and pepper if necessary.
  3. Cover the surface of the guacamole dip with clingfilm to prevent discolouration and then store in the fridge until ready to serve.
Top Tip for making Easy creamy guacamole

Avocados not ripe enough? Put them in a paper bag with an apple or tomato - and store at room temperature. They'll soon ripen. Believe us - it works!

If you have any leftover, cover it in clingfilm making sure the clingfilm touches the surface of the guacamole, as this will help stop it from going brown. Another top tip for holding off the browning? Drizzle it in lemon juice! Like with avocados, doing this to your guacamole before covering will help stop it from browning. If you really want to make the most of this dip whip up a batch of homemade tortilla chips to go with it.

The main ingredient in guacamole is avocado. If you like the taste and the texture of avocado you’re sure to like this creamy, green dip. The smooth texture and the nutty undertones are perfect paired with salted snacks such as tortilla chips or spooned on top of classic Mexican dishes like burritos and enchiladas.

As guacamole is predominantly made from avocado it is in fact a healthy dip option. Avocados are high in fat but they are good fats as they are naturally sourced. High fats are good for lowering cholesterol but should be eaten in moderation.

Some guacamole recipes add yogurt or cream based products to bulk up and add more sweetness to the dip. We feel you don’t need this and just the right amount of seasoning and a perfectly ripe avocado will make the best guacamole dip around.
