Clare Swatman

Features writer

Clare Swatman is an author and journalist with more than 25 years of experience writing for women’s magazines, as well as eight published novels$  to her name. She has been Assistant Editor of Bella, Commissioning Editor at Best, and has freelanced at Take a Break, Woman, Woman’s Own, Woman and Home among many others. She was also Editor of her local magazine for eight years, where she wrote content on everything from news stories to parenting, health and gardening. More recently she has written for several online publications including Netmums and Live Science, and has began to specialise in writing about health, fitness, and wellbeing.

Clare has wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember and got her very first front-page story when she interviewed the rock band Korn for her university newspaper in Newcastle. Although her degree was in French and Spanish, she was always determined to be a writer, so getting her first job as a feature writer way back in 1998 was a dream come true. Being offered her first book deal in 2015 fulfilled her other dream, and now she writes full-time and is published by Boldwood Books.

Clare lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and two teenage sons. Even the cat is male so she’s destined to be out-numbered forever.

Clare sends out a monthly newsletter with book recommendations and news which you can sign up to here: www.clareswatmanauthor.com
