Stephanie Maylor
Stephanie is a Beauty Editor across five national women’s magazine titles, with more than fifteen years’ experience working within the beauty industry. She has been shortlisted for multiple awards at the J&J Beauty Journalism Awards, and was the runner-up at the Wella Hair Journalism Awards in 2009. She has written for many brands, including Grazia, Now, More!, Fabulous, Woman & Home, NW, Woman, Woman's Own, Woman's Weekly, Essentials, Best, Chat, Pick Me Up and OK! Online. In 2010 she launched her own beauty blog, which was also shortlisted for Best Beauty Blog in the 2011 and 2012 J&J Beauty Journalism Awards. She has interviewed many high profile industry experts and celebrities including Alesha Dixon, Twiggy and Christina Hendricks. With a first class BA Hons degree in English, writing has always been her passion, combined with a long-standing love of magazines, but it was only when watching the pilot episode of MTV’s The Hills in her final year of university that she realised she could make a career out of the two. Although having always taken a keen personal interest in makeup and hair care, she fell into the world of beauty by chance. After a brief work experience stint at Grazia, she was asked to return for a longer internship on the beauty desk. Her portfolio spans generations, writing for everyone from teens to baby boomers, covering topics such as the latest catwalk nail trends and the effects of menopause on the skin. She lives with her husband and two children in Milton Keynes, and is as likely to be found with a paintbrush in hand, as a blusher brush. There’s always a new DIY project to undertake. She still loves playing with makeup as much as she did in her teens and would never show up on the school run without a full face on!
