Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver MBE is one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the country. His cheeky Essex boy persona and simple, delicious food have made him a hit in the food industry. Starting his career as a pastry chef at Antona Carluccio's Neal Street restaurant in London, he made his unannounced appearance in a BBC documentary while working at The River Cafe in Fulham and the producers loved him. From there his television career started to take off and now he has over ten best-selling books, including classics like Jamie's 15 minutes meals and Save with Jamie as well as having restaurants all over the world.
The Naked Chef was his first solo TV venture, with a best-selling book to match. He was an instant hit, drumming up recipes for the population for all occasions- from family parties to quiet date nights. After three series of The Naked Chef, Jamie decided to create his first restaurant, Fifteen in Cornwall, which is a restaurant used to help train young adults who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds to become chefs. The restaurant has Jamie's signature Italian style and only uses ingredients from Cornwall and South West so that all his customers get a real taste for how amazing local British produce can taste. Think delicious tortellini of sweet Cornish squash, Longhorn rib eye, and crispy sea bass...
Alongside Jamie's business ventures, he also has a passion for making people eat healthier food so he decided to make his own campaign called Feed Me Better, which was created to educate parents and children about the importance of healthy school dinners. Although this has made Jamie a media magnet, he has successfully improved school dinners in schools across the UK and has officially banned Turkey Twizzlers from being served in schools. In his following campaign The Food Revolution Movement, Jamie stopped junk food ads being advertised on public transport in London as well as made sure that all children in schools across the UK have access to a decent, nutritious meal.
At the heart of Jamie's food is his love for creating healthy, balanced meals for his five children and wife Juliette Horton. His recipes are created for everyone- from time short chefs to expert cooks-and his dishes are ones we know all the family will love and are full of organic produce and quality ingredients.
