  • Alex Jones has been praised by fans after sharing a photo of herself on Instagram breastfeeding her baby son.

    The One Show presenter welcomed her first child – Edward, or baby Teddy as he is known – with her husband Charlie Thompson almost a year ago.

    With less than a month to go before Teddy’s first birthday, the TV presenter has shared a black-and-white shot of herself breastfeeding her son, while Charlie looks on lovingly.

    The Welsh broadcaster posted the photo on her Instagram profile with the following caption: ‘2017 you were the best yet. Happy new year to all our friends. Blwyddyn newydd dda bawb. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2018 xxx’

    Since posting the never-before-seen picture on New Year’s Day, Alex has been inundated with positive comments, with many fans applauding her for sharing such an intimate moment of her family.

    One fan wrote, ‘Lovely photo. It’s sad that we live in a society where we even need to applaud posts like this and that it isn’t just the norm. Bravo for posting such a natural and beautiful thing I always appreciate when public figures help in re-normalising the most natural thing in the world. All the best x’.

    She has received nearly 8,000 likes on the post in addition to other positive remarks including, ‘amazing photo. really shows the bond between mother and baby’.

    The 40-year-old mum has another big year ahead in 2018, as she is releasing her very first parenting book later this year. Talking about her new book the proud mum said, ‘It’s been a hell of a journey trying to write a book in the first year of becoming a parent, but I’m nearly done!! I’m editing the final draft and it’s really bloody honest…I’m scared!’
