Argos recalls Cuggl Camborne Cots over safety fears for babies
Argos has made the decision to recall one of their products for babies.
The retailer is urging customers to stop using the Cuggl Camborne Cot Bed immediately after fears they pose a danger to little ones were raised.
'As part of our ongoing quality control procedures we have identified that in certain instances the top rail of the cot could over time become detached resulting in sharp points becoming exposed,’ a statement posted on the Argos site explained to shoppers.
The cribs that are affected are the timeless two-tone and white wooden styles which can be purchased separately or as part of a three-piece nursery set.
The wardrobe and chest of drawers that can be snapped up as part of the bundle have been deemed as safe for mums and dads to keep.
Anyone who has purchased one of the faulty beds for babies is being advised to contact the customer helpline for support.
A replacement or full refund of the Cuggl Camborne Cot Bed will be issued accordingly.
The Cuggl Cot Bed in white retails for £119.99 at Argos
‘We wish to thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience,’ Argos concluded.
Argos isn't the only store to have pulled an item for kids from shelves recently.
This week, Mothercare voluntarily released a comment to warn mums and dads about a fault with their brightly coloured My First Keys toy.
According to the retailer, there is a risk of the battery compartment coming off and exposing the button cell battery.
If this is something you’ve snapped up for a tot between June last year and April 2018, the batch codes of affected gadgets are as follows: 02-161024, 02-161205 and 02-170509.
Addressing the issue, the company said in a statement: 'This action has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers.'
