  • Ashton Kutcher has revealed why his children won’t inherit any money from him or their mum, Mila Kunis.

The dad opened up about the controversial topic during an appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast, Armchair Expert, where he said his children won’t be receiving any money from their parents later in life.

Instead of setting up trust funds for their children – three-year-old daughter Wyatt and one-year-old son Dimitri – the couple are planning to leave their fortune to charity.

He said on the podcast: ‘I’m not setting up a trust for them. We’ll end up giving our money away to charity and to various things.’

But why do A-list celebrities like Ashton and Mila decide not to leave their fortune – or at least some of it – to their offspring?

Explaining his decision, the dad said he would invest in his children’s businesses, if they had a good business plan, but will not just hand out money to them because they have to be motivated to achieve something and already live ‘a really privileged life and they don’t even know it’.

‘If my kids want to start a business and they have a good business plan, I’ll invest in it, but they’re not getting trusts. So hopefully they’ll be motivated to have what they had or some version of what they had’, he said.

It’s not the first time the couple, who tied the knot in 2015, have talked publicly about wanting to instil the value of money in their kids, and not spoil them.

Mila, who’s originally from Ukraine, said last year that Wyatt and Dimitri wouldn’t be receiving any Christmas presents.

‘We’re instituting [no presents] this year because when the kids are [younger than] one, it doesn’t really matter,’ the mum-of-two explained.

‘We’ve told our parents, “We’re begging you – if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation to the children’s hospital or a pet [or] whatever you want.’
