Parents rally behind blogger after she speaks out against being 'mum shamed'

After the blogger spoke out against 'mum shamers', she received overwhelming support from other parents

Krechelle Carter took to social media to share her frustrations at people who criticise how she disciplines and parents her children - and other parents can seriously relate.

Bringing up a child isn't easy. You're sleep deprived and feel under pressure to make sure you create a well-rounded, honest, kind-hearted little human. So when you feel like you're doing your best the last thing you want to hear is other people's unsolicited comments and criticisms.

For Krechelle, who is a mum of six, the frustration became too much and she took to social media to vent. She wrote a lengthy and very relatable post that explained she was fed up of being judged for the way she handled her kids in public.

She wrote: 'All I want to do is tell off my 42 children in peace! Without you bastards judging me; Susan, Gertrude and Barry. I';m so sick of being 'mum shamed' for telling my children off! And I'm not the only one!

'Every-time I start to tell my children off; (Granted I sound a bit like a bulldog eating a tire) I'm met with an audience of other parents or relatives, sometimes random strangers judging the way that I'm handling things.'

She continued: 'Judges decisions are in and apparently I'm a terrible parent. And I try and be diplomatic and calm. But there is only so many times I can say; 'sweetheart can you please not hit your sister with a rock because when you do your entering her personal space and it hurts and how do you think that makes her feel?' By the third time it kinda comes out like: 'if you touch your sister one more damn time I'm putting your iPad in the rubbish bin'.'

'I have to make sure my children are reminded that we have rules because they always seem to get amnesia once we leave the front door. Ya dig?'

Other parents soon flooded the post with support and similar stories with several calling the mum-of-six 'amazing' and the post 'so relatable'.

One person wrote: 'Thank you for posting this! Sometimes I feel like the worst mom in the world when I raise my voice after having to repeat myself seventeen times, but we are all doing the best we can! ❤️ don't ever let someone make you feel bad!'

Another shared a similar sentiment: 'This is so relatable, and I've only got two. The first hundred times you calmly ask the child to stop throwing food/pinching their sibling/sitting on the cat, no one will notice how calm you are, but when you finally lose your crap at them they are suddenly ready and watching every move. 😩.'
