  • Mum-of-two Charley Webb has opened up about her two-year-old son Bowie’s battle with separation anxiety that results in him hysterically crying when she drops him off at nursery.

The soap star married her co-star husband in a secret wedding ceremony last month, but she is now looking for some parenting advice.

Charley reached out on social media to ask her followers about their experiences as she revealed that Bowie is struggling to adjust to nursery.

She said: ‘Bowie started nursery about 4 weeks ago. One afternoon a week and he is hysterical every time I leave him there. Screaming, crying, hitting. Anyone else had this?’

Charley added: ‘Please tell me it gets better!’

The responses soon flooded in with Charley’s fans offering their support and sharing their own experiences.

One person wrote: ‘It will get better, a lot of kids go through this stage’, while another added: ‘Stay persistent, he will grow out of it, its so difficult’.

One of the replies came from former Coronation Street star Paula Lane, who played Kylie Platt in the soap and offered Charley some words of comfort.

She said: ‘Promise it does! Penny just does one day and it takes a little longer to settle that’s all.’

Charley replied explaining that she had never had to deal with this with her eldest son, seven-year-old Buster.

She said: ‘Buster was never bothered. Bowie’s got full separation anxiety. Praying he grows out of it!’

After the post received over 300 comments, Charley took the time to thank her fans for their support.

She said: ‘Thanks everyone for your advice. Nursery suggested upping it to two mornings, it’s just when I work so much I want to spend that time with him if I’m off. I might go for 2, I’ll see how the next few weeks go💪🏼.’

Five hours later she added: ‘Still reading all your messages. A lot of you say when the parents leave they’re fine but he’s been continuing to cry. Then stops, then starts. For the whole session…….!! Hopefully in a few more weeks he’ll love it’.
