Alex Bain, who's been starring on Coronation Street as Simon Barlow since 2008, has confirmed he's going to become a father for the first time.
The teenager, who's only 16, confirmed the rumours that he's going to welcomed his first child with girlfriend Levi Selby on social media.
Reports that his girlfriend was expecting started a few weeks ago, when The Sun reported that Levi announced the pregnancy on Facebook, alongside a picture of her ultra-sound.
Recently, the young couple has been hit with rumours that they had split, after the expectant mum posted a cryptic message on Facebook.
She wrote: 'Me and my little girl from now on!! Can't wait to start my life with her.'
However, the soon-to-be dad has finally cleared up the split rumours and confirmed the happy news that they are about to start a family together.
According to The Sun, the actor wrote on Facebook: 'I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family!'
The two are said to have already picked a baby name for their little one, which the Daily Mail reports as being Lydia-Rose.
Levi has also revealed her due date when she first announced that she was expecting her first child with Alex, saying that she is predicted to give birth on December 8.
Despite only confirming the pregnancy now, the TV star has reportedly been very open about it with friends and family. According to The Sun, one source said: 'Alex has been telling everyone he's going to be a father. He isn't keeping it a secret. It's hard to tell if he's happy about it or not but he's definitely not ashamed of it.'
Alex and Levi, who are both still in school, go to separate schools but have managed to stay together for over a year. According to OK! magazine, the pair have been together since April 2017.
Congratulations to Alex and Levi on starting a family together!
