  • A couple asked a photographer to capture a picture of their two-week-old baby that would reflect their fertility struggle, and the result has moved thousands of people.

For some people having a baby can be a real struggle and lots of couples endure months and years of failure before they get the chance to become parents.

Photographer Samantha Packer from Arizona was asked by one couple who’d  been trying for a baby for four years to capture a picture that would reflect their fertility battle and the result is breathtaking.

Taking to Facebook to share the special story and picture, Samantha wrote: ‘This is the first time I have been asked to do a photo like this! I was honoured and wanted to create something special! Mom said, “4 years, 7 attempts, 3 miscarriages and 1,616 shots.”‘

According to CNN the heart which surrounds two-week-old London O’Neill is made of the blood-thinner needles her mum used twice a day to conceive. The next ring shows all the IVF injections her mum had to take.

Patricia and Kimberly met six years ago and married last year but had been trying to conceive since 2014. They both have children from previous relationships but knew they wanted a biological child together and decided that Patricia would carry the child.

After a long struggle to make this happen, Patricia told CNN she hopes their picture inspires other couples to not lose hope.

She said: ‘I hope that there’s a couple out there that’s going through what we are that can see that there’s hope at the end of the tunnel. There’s a light and you just have to get there.’

The picture has been shared by more than 60,000 people and more than 5,000 comments have gathered below the image.
