'Are people seriously this stupid?' Pregnant model Emma McVey hits back at trolls who criticised her small baby bump

The mum-to-be is six months pregnant

Emma McVey, who's expecting a baby with Geordie Shore's Gaz Beadle, has hit back at trolls who shamed her for her small baby bump after she shared a snap on social media.

The mum-to-be has been posting glimpses of her first pregnancy on social media, - like many other young mums - but her latest picture got people talking, and not all of the comments were positive.

The model shared a cute shot featuring her baby bump, with Gaz listening in for his baby boy's kicks.

In the photo's caption, Emma confirmed she's nearly six months pregnant: 'He makes an appearance at night time 💙 how is it 6 months next week already?! We can't wait to meet you 👶🏼'.

While many took to the comments section to send their well-wishes to the couple, the picture got a lot of attention from fans who commented to say her bump is too small.

One said: 'have you ever seen such a tiny bump ?! 🙉', while another commented 'I think about eating a piece of lettuce and my belly looks like this 😂😂'

However, the model didn't stay quiet in the face of criticism, and replied to someone who was commenting on when she decided to announce her pregnancy. 'Are people seriously this stupid? I can announce I'm pregnant at whatever date I want and it definitely wouldn't be the first week of pregnancy like you seem to think 🙄,' she said in her reply to the comment, which has now been deleted.

Others, however, came out to defend Emma and even shared their own experiences of having small baby bumps: 'ok don't see why half these people here are commenting stupid comments such as '6 months' with a dumb emoji thinking there is something wrong with how she looks right now?' one wrote.

'she is actually so lucky to have this size baby bump at 6 months emma had an amazing body before this pregnancy and she sure as hell would after!. don't send out comments that are throwing shade to emma and her body. she has been doing an amazing job carrying her child how about everyone keep there negative comments to them selfs and show some support which is what they deserve. honestly so sorry to you emma and gaz for having to deal with some immature people. You guys are doing great remember that!!'

Another agreed: 'my best friend didn't start to show till her last month of pregnancy. You enjoy every minute, every kick and every baby hiccup its beautiful.'

Emma and Gaz announced they were expecting their first child together in August, a year after they started dating.
