Award-winning Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor will be on hand to get your little ones to sleep this week while presenting CBeebies bedtime stories.

Father-of-four Ewan will sit in the CBeebies bedtime story chair on Friday (17 August) to read Everybody's Welcome by Patricia Hegarty.

Speaking about his chance to appear on the much-loved programme Ewan said: 'It’s such an honour and pleasure to join an incredible list of actors to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story to children all over the UK. I had a great time filming and I hope everyone enjoys watching it.'

The story Ewan will read follows the tale of a mouse who wants to build a house for everyone and encourages his friends to work together so that they can feel safe and most importantly, happy, in their new home.

Ewan's latest film Christopher Robin hit the screens earlier this month. The story follows a grown up Christopher Robin who is out-of-touch with his family and struggles to play with them because he is always working.

Thankfully his friends from Hundred Acre Wood, including none other than Winnie the Pooh himself, help Christopher reconnect with his family and lighten up a little.

If you've taken your little one to the cinema to see the latest Disney masterpiece it's likely they'll be thrilled to have a bedtime story read to them by Ewan.

A third joked: 'I will happily add this to the #BedtimeStory rota. It will interrupt the constant @george_ezra rewatches though, he is currently my children's favourite human (I've been told this repeatedly. Thanks, children.)'

CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on everyday at 6.50pm.
