Anne Hathaway expecting second child with husband Adam Shulman after fertility struggle

Anne Hathaway has revealed that she's expecting baby number two with husband Adam Shulman.

The Devil Wears Prada star announced the happy news on Instagram, with a cute black and white picture where her bump is visible.

In the caption, the 36-year-old opened up about her fertility struggle before conceiving her second child, saying it wasn’t a ‘straight line’ for either of her pregnancies.

She wrote: ‘It’s not for a movie... #2

‘ All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love 💕’

Fans of the star rushed to congratulate her on her happy news, but also praised her for being open about her fertility issues.

One said: ‘I tried everything, right down to IVF at 30 , only to be told that I was infertile. Then at 42, I got pregnant. He is my little miracle. Blessings to you!’

Another said: ‘Your message...you have no idea how kind that message is to your struggling fans. Thank you for being so amazing. ❤️’

A third added: ‘I understand that feeling. We dealt with four miscarriages before we got our beautiful rainbow baby🌈 I'm so thankful for her. Also praying and hoping all goes well.’

Anna and Adam – who’ve been married since 2012 - welcomed their first child, Jonathan, back in 2016.

Before her first bundle of joy arrived, she spoke about her desire to be a mother, telling Vogue in 2013: ‘Oh, my God. I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely.

‘I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them.’

Despite being very private when it comes to her personal life, Anne did give us a glimpse of her bump during her last pregnancy. Alongside the gorgeous picture showing her at the beach: 'So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed.

'I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :)'.
