Bill Skarsgård reveals he secretly welcomed daughter with girlfriend Alida Morberg last year
Actor Bill Skarsgård confirmed he has a daughter during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Bill’s daughter, whose name is unknown, was born in October 2018 but it took the actor 11 months to confirm her arrival. He made reference to his bundle of joy whilst being interviewed by Stephen Colbert.
His most recent role is Pennywise the Clown in It Chapter Two, and Bill had appeared on the show to promote the new horror film. He was asked if children were now ‘frightened’ of him as a result of the terrifying character.
Stephen asked: ‘Are children frightened of you? Do you have children?’
Bill then replied: ‘No, no they’re pretty good! I have one… she’s 11-months-old.’
‘Never let her see this movie’ Stephen then joked, but Bill revealed that ‘her little baby room is just filled with Pennywise teddy bears’ that he’d built up since playing the character. Sounds terrifying!
Bill spoke to Good Morning America about filming on It Chapter Two, where he revealed he would FaceTime his baby daughter in full Pennywise makeup. She was only two weeks old at the time, too…

The film is based on Stephen King’s epic novel, which took him four years to write. Tim Curry previously played Pennywise in a 1990 miniseries, but Bill Skarsgård wanted to ‘reinvent’ the iconic clown.
Speaking to Metro, Bill Skarsgård said: ‘It was always important for me to reinvent It and reinterpret It in a different way.’
‘I think this Pennywise is different and they can stand alone. There’s no need to compare them as you can appreciate both.’
Originally, Stephen King had stated he wanted the character to be similar to the troll in the Three Billy Goats Gruff children’s story, though we don’t recommend reading It to your children any time soon.
