  • Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that somebody once called the child protection to report her and husband Will Smith, accusing them of ‘abusing’ their daughter, Willow.

Discussing the turbulence of her family life to radio DJ Clara Amfo during a screening of chat show, Red Table Talk, in London, 47-year-old Jada revealed the worst thing that they have ever had to weather.

She said: ‘We’ve been through so much as a family, it takes a lot to rock us.’

‘Once you’ve survived having child protection services come to your house because someone called and said, “You’re abusing Willow, you’re not feeding her”…

‘When you’ve gone through crazy stuff like that, whatever you’ve spoke about at the Red Table Talk, doesn’t mean anything, due to the storms you’ve survived off of that table [and being so open].’

She continued: ‘We’ve survived so much as a family, so that’s one of the things I’m grateful for. We hold it down together and give each other that freedom to speak our truth.’

The dramatic incident occurred back in 2014 when 13-year-old Willow, who is now 18, was photographed lying on a bed alongside her friend, 20-year-old Moises Arias.

Jada and Will denied there was anything inappropriate about the image of their daughter and the Disney Channel star, and were cleared after the Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services investigated.

Speaking to TMZ at the time, Jada said: ‘There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You’re acting like covert paedophiles and that’s not cool.’

During the Red Table Talk episode, screened on Facebook last night, Jada, who is also mother to 21-year-old Jaden, explained the hardships of having a famous family.

‘It’s not easy for a child to grow up in the spotlight.

‘And there’s a certain level of maturity you have to acquire quickly as a young person, because you’re under so much scrutiny all the time.’
