Former Call The Midwife star Jessica Raine is expecting her first child with Tom Goodman-Hill

She’s due to give birth in the next few weeks

Actress Jessica Raine is pregnant with her first child with fellow actor and husband Tom Goodman-Hill.

Jessica Raine has plenty of experience with new born babies from her time on Call The Midwife and in a few weeks time she’ll have her own baby to look after…

The actress, perhaps best known for her role as Jenny Lee in the popular BBC drama, is pregnant with her first child with her husband Tom Goodman-Hill.

Jessica debuted her growing baby bump while at a media screening of the new BBC One series Babtise and spoke during a press Q&A about how the team filmed certain stunts despite her pregnancy.

Jessica told reporters: ‘I was a bit tired but the worrying thing for production was there was a car race and stunt and I neglected to tell them I was pregnant when I took the job.

‘I broke the news and everyone was amazing. We had to work out how to do a car chase without me being in any danger.’

Jessica also described how her on-screen character’s personality conflicted with how she was feeling in real-life.

She said: ‘Also my character is quite hard and being pregnant is quite emotional so it worked well. I was interested most in food on this job! My shirts get bigger as the series goes on.’

It is thought that Jessica will give birth in the next month, though she has not confirmed her due date.

This will the third child for her husband Tom, who appeared in the ITV drama Mr Selfridge, as he is already dad to two teenage sons from his previous marriage to Kerry Bradley.

The couple had been together for 20 years and married for five when they divorced in 2010. Tom and Jessica met whilst working in theatre back in 2010, and tied the knot in 2015.

Baptise is a spin-off to the BBC’s popular series The Missing and will air in mid-February 2019
