Katie Price calls ex-husband Peter Andre a ‘great dad’ in sweet birthday message

Katie Price has reached out to ex-husband Peter Andre, calling him a ‘great dad’.

The mum-of-five took to social media to make the declaration as she wished her ex-husband of four years a happy birthday.

The 40-year-old, who recently sparked controversy with her unusual family pet, took to her Instagram stories to send well wishes to her former partner as he celebrates his 46th birthday today.

The controversial TV star, who shares children Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, with her ex-husband shared a sweet picture of the birthday boy cuddling the pair’s two children, while Junior plants a kiss on his dad’s cheek.

Alongside the adorable image, the former model wrote ‘Happy birthday to @peterandre’

‘Thankyou for always being a great dad to Princess and Junior’.

The pair, who got together when they both appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here in 2004 and married a year later, have naturally had their ups and downs since they split back in 2009.

However, in recent months they have seemed to be getting along well, despite the problems that Katie has been experiencing in what she labelled her ‘rock bottom year’.

During the tumultuous time Junior and Princess moved in with dad Peter, who also shares five-year-old Amelia and two-year-old Theodore with current wife of nearly four years Emily.

It was widely believed that the Mysterious Girl singer would keep his two older children with him during the Christmas period, despite it being Katie’s year to spend the holiday with their kids.

However, the dad-of-four spoke out in support of his ex-wife, confirming that she would keep the pair’s children for the festive period.

Taking to Twitter back in December, he wrote: ‘I never normally respond to anything. But of course the children (j and p) will be with their mum for Christmas.

‘This was always the case. And so they should. So is their mum. Have a good day :)))’
