Hugh Grant opens up about marrying partner Anna Eberstein for the first time
Hugh Grant, who recently tied the knot with Swedish television producer Anna Eberstein, has opened up about why he decided to finally take the plunge.
The actor, who starred in classic films like Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral, revealed the reason that led him to say 'I do' at the altar after years of not being a believer in marriage.
During an appearance on US show Today, he said: 'We've got three kids together, we live together, and I didn't like the moment at immigration.
'Immigration people would say, alright, all the Grants through here, and I'd go through with my children. And all the others through there. She’d go through with the nannies. It wasn’t right', he said.
The father-of-five also opened up about how life as a married man is going, admitting that he should have gotten married before.
He said: 'It's really nice. I can't pretend it isn't. I should have done it before. I'm just lucky. I'm lucky.
'I've got a great wife. I love her.'

However, despite getting married at a low-key civil ceremony in London last month, the 57-year-old still believes marriage is 'nonsense'.
'I still think it’s a nonsense really and so does my wife by the way. But it just seemed like a nice cosy thing to do', he added.
The couple welcomed their third child together earlier this year, and it was Hugh's ex partner, Elizabeth Taylor, who confirmed the news.
She said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in March: 'Well he had another one last week. He has five. He was over 50 when he spawned them all.'
The actress, who dated Hugh for 13 years before they separated in May 2000, also added that fatherhood has made him become a better person.
‘He’s actually an enchanting dad. Really, really sweet. Having these kids has actually transformed him from a very miserable person into a fairly miserable person. It’s an improvement – he’s gone up the scale.'
The Love Actually star also has two other children from his previous relationship with Tinglan Hong – daughter Tabitha, born in 2011, and son Felix, who they welcomed in 2012.
