First Dates stars Ibiba Mudada and Aarron Stewart welcome their first child

First Dates stars Ibiba Mudada and Aarron Stewart have welcomed their first child together after meeting on the show less than a year ago.

The pair had a baby girl, named Aziza, back in April, but have only just announced the happy news of her arrival to the press.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ibiba, 28, said: 'It's true that our meeting and the speed with which we've started a family is certainly far from traditional. And it is hardly ideal to do everything so fast. But that is the nature of modern Britain. Things move at a much faster pace these days.'

Aarron added to the paper: 'Right now Aziza is the most important thing in our world.'

Aarron and Ibiba were first matched in the infamous First Dates restaurant – otherwise known as the Paternoster Chop House in St Paul's outside of filming – in June last year. Sparks flew and they both agreed to a second date after their meal, and the relationship has since gone from strength to strength.

The pair announced that they were expecting live on the show in October 2016 – admitting during the episode that they knew things had moved quickly.

'I was trying to keep it cool but I fancied him so much,' gushed Ibiba at the time. 'Things got serious after the third date. Everything was quite intense.'

Aaron agreed: 'I never expect to find love, let alone have a kid. It's absolutely nuts - but I'm so happy.'

Both have children from previous relationships (Ibiba's daughter, Chenai, is 10, whilst Aaron is dad to six-year-old Latham and nine-year-old Tia) but Aziza is the very first 'First Dates Baby.'

The suave French Maitre d' of the Channel 4 restaurant, Fred Sirieix, couldn't hide his excitement for the couple when he appeared on the BAFTA red carpet this weekend.

Speaking to The Sun at the event, he exclaimed: 'The baby is such amazing news! She's healthy and happy and she is the most beautiful baby girl.'

'What makes it even more special is that we were able to be a part of it and help make it happen!'

In reference to what was meant to be the first First Dates wedding back in 2016 (between Scott White and Victoria Wills, who called off their engagement after seven months) Fred said: 'We've had a baby – that is even better [than a wedding]!'
