Jamie Oliver's mum sparks fan debate after telling her son off on Instagram

Grandmother Oliver shows Jamie who's boss!

Jamie Oliver has been publicly told off by his own mother, who gave her famous son a verbal clip round the ear by warning him to pick his little one River up off the floor.

The TV chef has posted an adorable picture of his youngest child, River Rocket, showing off a beautiful big smile whilst lazing about on what looks to be the floor of the Oliver family home.

Tagging his son at 'BIG SMILE' and writing a sweet caption, Jamie seemed thrilled to be showing off how cute his brood is.

Writing to his 5.7 million followers Jamie said: 'Morning little boy.....always good to get a nice smile😍'.

Most of Jamie's fans couldn't wait to congratulate him on having such an adorable son, but there was one follower who couldn't help but make a bit of mischief.

Jamie's mum, Sally Oliver, commented on her son's post, playfully scolding him for putting a baby on the floor, writing: 'This adorable child! He looks so like you as a baby! But please get him off that hard floor now'.

Grandmother Oliver's comment caused quite the stir between followers, with some remarking that Jamie shouldn't put his baby on a 'hard, cold floor'.

One Instagram user wrote: 'Cute baby Jamie, but he can't be that comfortable laying on that hard, cold floor.'

Another said: 'why is your baby on the floor???' and a third agreed: 'I commented about the stone floor mainly for the hardness and coldness'.

Meanwhile, some of Jamie's other followers focused on applauding Jamie's mum for putting her 41-year-old son in his place.

After entertaining many of Jamie's fans, Sally quickly commented again to make it clear that she was joking: 'You're quite right, the floor is very clean and River is very well cared for, I was only teasing Jamie 😃'.
