Jessica Simpson has been criticised on social media for letting her son - who has a broken arm - be thrown into back flip in pool by his dad, Eric Johnson.

The mum-of-two recently posted a picture of her son with a cast, revealing that he had broken his arm.

She said at the time: 'This kid is breaking more than hearts these days 💔 #FirstBrokenBone #ICriedMoreThanHeDid #ACEKNUTE'.

A week after she revealed her son's injury, the mum posted a video of her family having fun in the pool on what looks like a hot sunny day.

Sharing the clip where her four-year-old son Ace is seen being thrown into a backflip while he's playing in the swimming pool with her husband, the mum said: 'A broken bone doesn't hold this kiddo down,' wrote Simpson. 'Waterproofcast.'

While the dad and son duo seem be having a great time, some of Jessica's fans took to the comments section to criticise her letting her son being thrown in the air while his arm is healing.

One said: 'I'm sorry but i think that is the most ridiculous thing to be doing as a parent! I'm sure you all are great parents but my daughter broke her arm and she was told to not swim or doing anything strenuous.'

Another commented: 'I had no idea it’s possible to swim with a broken arm! Probably not the best choice.'

A third also wrote: 'I think any generation would not think it’s a good idea to flip a child around like that with a broken arm lol.. that’s just common sense 🤷🏻 ♀️'.

However, many of her commented on the post to defend the star, saying that she's right to let be her kid be a kid.

One said: 'The parent police need to worry about their own kids and keep their mouths SHUT! He has a waterproof cast, he is in the pool and with his parents doing what kids do. As grown ups we spend way to much time keeping our kids from being kids. They are going to eat dirt, lick dogs, pick up dog doo, drink from the garden house and pee on a tree so fracking deal with it. He is fine and they are NOT bad parents because they are playing with him with a broken arm.'

Another fan wrote: 'Kids are fearless souls... don't ever let him lose that. So glad you have this on video for when he's older.'

While a third also added: 'My daughter broke her arm right before the summer and swam with a cast till it came off. Lay off parent police.'
