John and his wife Caitlin, 32, announced they were expecting their first child in December, in an interview with People magazine.
He said at the time: 'I always wanted to be a dad. Clearly I had to do some work on myself, first.
'I have a youthful thing. People say, “Oh, you look young. You’ll start believing you’re gonna live to be 150.” And then you wake up and go, “No, man, this is it. This is not a rehearsal."'
The pair got engaged a few months before revealing their lovely baby news, in October, but they already knew they were about to become parents.
John said in the interview: 'The [pregnancy] happened. Then I said, I better have a ring on her finger because it’s the right thing to do, and I wanted to marry her anyway. So I called her parents to ask, and it was like, "You better!"'
