Kylie Minogue reveals that cancer took away her 'options' for motherhood
The singer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005
Kylie Minogue has opened up about the way her cancer diagnosis impacted her options for parenthood.
The 48 year old, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, told The Sunday Times: 'When cancer strikes, you really have to consider all of that'.
'Trust me, there's a point when the next person who says, "Well, there are many options", you want to scream. Of course, it's great there are options. It's marvellous! But when you're dealing with all the other stuff and things that you took for granted are taken away from you, it's like, yes there are options, but...'
Kylie, who is engaged to British actor Joshua Sasse, 29, said that becoming an aunt to three nephews that she is 'crazy about', including her sister Dannii's son Ethan in 2010, had made her consider the possibility of her own children in the future.
'I guess you have those visions of, god, what would my child look like, be it a boy or a girl? What would I see of myself in them? That's saddening, but I've thought about it for a long time and I've had to face that for a long time,' she added.

Joshua popped the question to Kylie in January 2016, but the pair have since vowed not to tie the knot until gay people are granted equal marriage rights in the popstar's home country of Australia.

When asked if the couple had considered becoming parents through adoption, Kylie avoided the question, adding that having her own biological family had become 'a different kettle of fish'.
During an appearance Radio 4's Desert Island Discs in 2015, she said to presenter Kirsty Young that it would be 'incredible' for a family to be on the horizon for the pair at some point.
