Luisana Lopilato opens up about son Noah's cancer battle
Michael Bublé announced their son's diagnosis in November last year
Actress Luisana Lopilato has opened up about helping her son Noah, who she shares with singer Michael Bublé, through his heartbreaking battle with cancer.
Noah, now nearly four, was diagnosed with cancer late last year, but his family report that his treatment has been going well.
Speaking to TV host Susana Giménez in her native Argentina, Luisana said that she had been filming in Buenos Aires when the medical concerns began.
'After they did the ultrasound, they told me they found something in his belly, They didn't know what it was yet, or if it was a tumor, but that day I decided to take a flight [to the United States].'
The couple had agreed to base the medical proceceedings in LA, halfway between their families in Argentina and Canada, but at the time Luisa was unable to get hold of Michael, who was filming in the UK.
'We did all the tests, and finally, we found out that it was what it was,' she says. 'These things, when they happen to you in life, they make you realize that the most important thing isn't what you thought it was — it's to have faith, to be strong.'
'There were nights I couldn't sleep, that I prayed to God. Because it is a long process — but thank God the worst is over.'

She added: 'For any parent, it's devastating to receive news like this. It was very heavy. We received all the prayers, all the calls. The only thing that got me through it was faith, from the very beginning.'
In February of this year, Michael released a statement on his Facebook assuring fans that the Noah's treatment was going well.
'We are so grateful to report that Noah is progressing well through his treatment and doctors are very optimistic for the future of our little boy,' he said. 'He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given us all. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words.'
The couple were married in 2016 and are also parents to 17 month old Elias.
