Snoop Dogg’s family is in mourning after his grandson Kai passed away just 10 days after birth.
The rapper’s 25-year-old son Corde Broadus shared the tragic news on Instagram, saying his son died on Wednesday. He didn’t give a cause of death.
Corde shared a video of his 13-month-old daughter Elleven Love kissing her baby brother in hospital and wrote alongside it: ‘Kai Love 9/15/19 – 9/25/19. My Son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world.
‘His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us,’ continued the grieving dad.
Corde finished: ‘Let’s all cherish life and those we love while we are here. Thank you.’
After receiving an outpouring of support, he returned to Instagram to thank fans for their well wishes.
He added: ‘My son did all he needed to do in his 10 days here on earth. He has now graduated and continuing to do work.
‘He died in my arms and that feeling of energy will never leave me. Kai wants all of you to know he’s doing great and wants to continue to inspire those who light is dim.’
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., also shared a poignant post on Instagram.
He didn’t make any mention of the tragic loss, but said the family had turned to faith.
‘If you’re facing something you don’t understand choose to trust God. Remember all He has done for you. His ways are higher than ours. He is always good,’ the message read.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper simply captioned it with a rose and prayer emojis.
Snoop’s wife Shante Broadus, 47, also took to social media to share an emotional post of herself tearfully singing along to the song The Love We Had Stays On My Mind.
Our thoughts are with the family.
