Amelle Berrabah, former Sugababes star, has announced she's welcomed her first child with her husband Marcio Sousa Rosa.

The star revealed the lovely news on her Twitter account, announcing that she welcomed a baby girl with her husband of almost four years.

Taking to social media, the singer wrote alongside an adorable snap of her newborn baby daughter's feet: 'Our daughter... Amirah Hope Sousa Rosa ❤️❤️❤️'

Later on she posted a picture of herself after a workout, and said: 'Just did a very light workout and stretch... now it’s time to go eat some good food. Mumma’s hungry! 😂🎂❤️👌🎈🍟'.

Amelle, who replaced Mutya Buena in the girl group in 2005, received plenty of congratulatory messages from fans after posting the announcement, with many wishing her luck in her adventure.

One said: 'Aww yay. congratulations hun. can't wait to see her, I bet she's beautiful 😍😍😍'

Another wrote: 'Congratulations to you all darling, wishing you all the best for your awesome adventure xxx🍼👶❤️'

A third also commented: 'Congratulations!!! Aww you now have the most precious gift life can ever give you!! So happy for you both! Loads of love 😘😘😘'.

Speaking about having children, Amelle said just last year that she wasn't yet ready to become a mum, but that she loves children and would definitely like to become a parent at some point.

'I love babies, I love kids. I would definitely like to have them in the future but I'm not ready yet. I'm too busy with my career but I would like to have them,' she explained.

The singer and her husband tied the knot almost four years ago, in October 2014, during a trip to Mauritius, just six days after he proposed.
