Saturdays singer Una Healy has broken her silence over her split from husband of six years, rugby star Ben Foden.

Speaking about their shock split for the first time, the 36-year-old revealed how she is coming to terms with life without her partner by her side.

The couple - who share children Aoife, six, and Tadgh, three, - announced the end of their marriage in July, after rumours that Ben had cheated started to surface.

Opening up about the pain and heartache she experienced, the mum-of-two told Hello! Magazine: 'My life has been turned upside down and I’m trying to figure it out. I’m taking each day as it comes and just being there for my children.'

She also went to reveal how she is finding solace in being a mum and prioritising the needs of her children: 'I'm so lucky to have them. I never feel lonely or alone. They’re lovely company and have brought joy into my life.

'The most important job for me is to be the best parent I can and to provide and look after them. They’re my priority.

'You have to be strong for your children as they’re dependent on you. But with that responsibility comes great satisfaction. I'm looking forward to all the milestones in their lives that we’ll share.'

And while she's focusing her energy into making sure her children are okay during this difficult time, she also revealed she's channelling her pain into writing new material: 'When things in my life happen, I write a lot. It's a form of therapy.'

At the time they announced the split, a spokesperson for the Saturdays singer told The Sun: 'I can confirm Una and Ben have separated and she’s in Ireland with her mum and kids, but there will be no further comment to make.'
