Holly Willoughby reveals her post-pregnancy weight loss secret

  • Holly Willoughby has been wowing fans recently with her incredible new look and svelte figure, and now the secret behind how the mum-of-three sprung back into shape after giving birth has been revealed.

    The This Morning star has been hitting headlines since the Glamour Awards where her platinum hairstyle and honed figure caused a stir, with fans desperate to find out what the working mum does to stay slim.

    Although Holly has kept quiet about her diet and exercise tips, The Sun has reported that the TV presenter followed the exercises of pilates instructor Lynne Robinson to get back into shape after giving birth.

    Holly welcomed her youngest child, Belle, in 2011 and has apparently been using pilates to strengthen and tone since.

    Lynne Robinson, director of London-based Body Control Pilates, spoke to The Sun about working with Holly at her home to tone her size 12 curves after welcoming daughter Belle.

    Lynne said, ‘I worked with Holly for several months, teaching her privately at her home once a week.’

    Focusing on her post-baby body, the fitness guru explained how it was important for the 36 year old to use pilates to strengthen muscles weakened by pregnancy, as well as tone her tum.

    ‘Holly had postnatal matt work classes which concentrated on strengthening and toning her core.’

    For many new mums, concentrating on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles is key, something which pilates are known for being effective for, but they can also help to tone stomach muscles and even arms when conducted correctly.

    Lynne’s exercises involve using ‘assisted curl ups with the help of a pillow and large towel, a movement which focuses on alignment, lengthening the spine and connecting the deep abdominal muscles.’

    For those wanting to work on their arms, the pilates expert suggests ‘arm raise movements holding a towel high in the air’, all whilst ensuring core muscles are pulled in tightly.

    Holly has kept quiet about her diet and exercise regime in the past, telling Prima magazine: ‘I don’t want to encourage eating disorders. I try not to focus too much on my appearance.

    ‘As long as I’m being healthy, that’s good enough for me.

    ‘I’m quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it’s not the important thing.’
