Perrie Edwards has shared a make-up free selfie on her Instagram profile to showcase her amazing freckles and to encourage others to celebrate their freckles too.
Pop sensation Perrie Edwards is best-known as one of the four band members that make up Little Mix.
The band's official Instagram has 9.7 million followers and Perrie's individual account has 8.2 million followers. So it's highly likely she has a huge impact on what youngsters look up to and strive for.
Perrie's pictures are often very glamorous and usually show the singer wearing elaborate outfits and a full face of make-up.
However, in one of Perrie's most recent posts on Instagram she has departed with the heavy glam and has instead shared a make-up free selfie which shows her amazing full face of freckles.
The singer hopes that by doing so she can encourage her followers and fans to embrace what makes them stand out from the crowd.
Captioning the picture Perrie explained: 'Growing up I was always insecure about the freckles on my face. Over the last couple of years I've started to embrace them and don't feel I need to hide them anymore.'
The 25-year-old singer urged her followers to love what makes them different. She quoted: 'Embrace your individuality. Love what you love without worrying about judgement.'
Perrie's fans have flooded the post with compliments and many said that it had given them the confidence to show their freckles off too.
One person wrote: 'Thank you Perri for for giving me the confidence to embrace my freckles I hated them growing up I was even considering laser surgery at one time but not now you look beautiful.'
Another said: 'This has made me feel so much more confident about my freckles. I always used to get teased and still do get teased about my freckles and it’s nice to see that somebody else has the same insane amount of freckles as me.'
A third added: 'Wow.. it’s crazy how someones insecurity is someone else wish 😯'.
This isn't the first post Perrie has shared urging her fans to embrace their freckles. Back in June the singer shared a picture from her holiday likening herself to a mermaid and declared that she thought freckles and scars are beautiful.
She wrote: 'Mermaids have freckles and scars too... embrace them. I think they’re beaut! 🐚'.
