Ashlee Simpson has given birth and revealed her child's unique name in a cute Instagram post.
The actor and singer revealed that she and her husband, Evan Ross, have welcomed baby boy.
Ashlee shared the picture of her son fast asleep, wrapped up in a knitted hat and brown blanket on Instagram yesterday – along with his name, revealing a very unique choice possibly relating to Ashlee’s musical influences.
She captioned the photo, ‘10-29-2020 Ziggy Blu Ross. Our sweet boy has arrived! I’m over the MOON we are so Blessed!’
Both Ashlee, the sister of singer Jessica Simpson and her husband, fellow singer Evan Ross, have a strong musical background. So perhaps the name Ziggy comes from a stage name used by pop icon David Bowie, as he was otherwise referred to as Ziggy Stardust.
Friends of the couple were quick to congratulate them, as Ashlee has shared her pregnancy journey over the lockdown in the last few months.
A famous friend, Hilary Duff, commented underneath the photo, ‘Congrats guys!! Beautiful baby boy! ✨♥️👏🏻’
While Miss USA Nia Sanchez wrote, ‘What an Angel!! Can’t wait to meet him 😍💙’
According to People magazine, Evan was thrilled to be welcoming his son after attending his wife’s pre-natal visits over Facetime during the coronavirus pandemic. He said, “He’s going to be amazing with his outfits. I’m excited to dress him in top hats and trenchcoats!”
This is the couple’s third child together after their first daughter, Jagger Snow, was born on July 30 2015. Ashlee and Evan, who is the son of singer Diana Ross, have been together since 2013 and were engaged in January 2014 before getting married later that same year.
Ashlee regularly shares family updates on her Instagam account and recently took to the platform to sing the praises of her husband for Father’s Day. She wrote underneath a picture of Evan and the kids, ‘HAPPY FATHER’S DAY BABY!! Your love is infectious thank you for being our rock. You are the greatest dad. You make everyday so fun⚡️I LOVE YOU FOREVER 😘’.
Ashlee also has another son, 11-year-old Bronx with ex-husband and musician, Pete Wentz.
