Beth Tweddle has revealed she's given birth to her first child - a baby girl!

The 34-year-old gymnast shared a cute Instagram photo of her newborn baby girl, and revealed the adorable name.

The heart-warming picture showed both her and her husband, Andy, holding hands with the tiny hands of her daughter.

The former Dancing On Ice star revealed the cute name of their bundle of joy, Freya Allen.

The Olympic champion also shared a throwback photo of her Christmas tree she shared last December, that revealed the couple were expecting.

Next to the Christmas tree, a blackboard revealed: ‘Our Greatest gift is due to be unwrapped May 2019.’

She wrote alongside the photos: ‘Exciting news! Andy and I are delighted to welcome and introduce Freya Allen to the world.

‘Born 16th May, both her and I are doing well.

‘What an unbelievable feeling and we're looking forward to the amazing journey ahead x’

Fans and friends were quick to congratulate the couple with warm wishes on social media.

One wrote: ‘Congratulations! You have chosen a great name! 😍’

Another added: ‘Huge congratulations 💕.’

The retired Olympian tied the knot with Andy back in June 2018 at Dorfold Hall, near her hometown in Banbury, Cheshire.

Beth told Hello! her wishes for a family after her wedding: ‘We’re excited about the future and have loads to look forward to.

‘We’d love a family so who knows. Watch this space!’

Andy popped the question in Brazil during the 2016 Rio Olympics, where Beth was working as a BBC commentator, after the pair had been dating for two years.

This exciting news comes after Beth suffered two broken vertebrae in her neck after a crash during ski training in Channel 4’s The Jump in 2016.

Beth had to undergo two years of recovery, and at times she was unable to dress or shower.

Last summer, Beth admitted: ‘There are still moments where I’ll do something and it hits home that it happened. I’m not 100 per cent better yet, physically or mentally.’

Previously Beth won a bronze medal in the London 2012 Olympics.

Wishing huge congratulations to the happy couple on the birth of baby Freya!
