Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to break with tradition with baby Archie's christening.

Harry and Meghan are due to have their baby boy Archie christened over the next week, but it turns out the couple won't go down the same route as Kate and William did for their three little ones.

While it's thought the couple will have a traditional ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, reports suggest they won't be allowing press to take pictures on the day.

According to the Sunday Times, privacy is 'more precious' to Harry than most other royals, which is why they've decided to keep the ceremony private.

A source told the publication: 'As Archie is not an HRH he feels he has every right to strictly police his son's privacy.'

The parents have been very protective over their son's privacy ever since his birth, shunning the hospital photocall Diana and Kate opted for, in favour of a private interview a couple of days after the birth.

However, they have given royal fans snippets of their little boy on their official Instagram account - including an adorable snap of Archie holding on to his dad's finger on Father's Day.

Despite keeping the ceremony private, it's likely the parents will share a curated image of the day on their social media as a royal commentator says not doing so is 'unthinkable'.

Speaking to INSIDER, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: 'I cannot believe they will not release a christening photo.

'They always do, it's a historic occasion. We've not seen much of baby Archie. This would be unthinkable.'

According to HELLO!, the ceremony will be happening next Saturday 6th July, two months after Archie was born.
