Former Call The Midwife star Jessica Raine and husband Tom Goodman-Hill welcome first child together

She was spotted pushing a newborn baby in a pram

Actress Jessica Raine and Tom Goodman-Hill have welcomed their first child together and have been spotted out with their baby.

Jessica Raine made the surprise announcement that she was expecting her first child back in January.

The actress, best known for her role on the hit BBC show Call The Midwife, was at the media screening for her new drama when she debuted her growing baby bump.

At the time, Jessica did not reveal how far along in her pregnancy she was or if she was expecting a little boy or girl. (opens in new tab)

The actress isn’t on social media, so she hasn’t been posting any bump updates and until she was spotted out and about over the weekend, no one knew she had given birth.

Jessica and her husband Tom - who starred in Mr Selfridge - were spotted doing a spot of shopping and pushing their baby in a pram, but no more details have been shared.

We wonder if Jessica got some baby name (opens in new tab) inspiration based on her time on Call The Midwife. She was on the hit show for three series and interacted with a lot of little ones…

Back in January, when she announced she was expecting, Jessica revealed that she had been doing stunt work while pregnant too.

Jessica explained: ‘I was a bit tired but the worrying thing for production was there was a car race and stunt and I neglected to tell them I was pregnant when I took the job.

‘I broke the news and everyone was amazing, we had to work out how to do a car chase without me being in any danger.’

She continued: ‘Also my character is quite hard and being pregnant is quite emotional so it worked well, I was interested most in food on this job so my shirts get bigger as the series goes on.’

The baby is Jessica’s first child but her husband Tom’s third. He has two teenage sons from his previous marriage to Kerry Bradley.

Tom and Kerry divorced in 2010 and he went on to marry Jessica five years later.
