A study reveals which dog breeds are the most affectionate

Dogs are often known for their loyalty and companionship.
Many of us are pet owners, and thankful for the joy and fun memories they bring to our lives.
But is there a friendliest dog breed? According to a recent study, the answer is yes.
Dog food manufacturer Eukanuba looked into a number of breeds, in order to determine which were the most affectionate towards humans.
Here are their results:
• Staffordshire Bull Terrier
• West Highland White Terrier

• Corgi
• Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
• Labrador
With Staffies and Westies taking the top spots, it seems like these are the perfect breeds for those of you wanting a very affectionate pet. The study also revealed that 39 per cent of Westies and 37 per cent of Staffies share their owner’s bed.
Corgis came in at number 3, which explains the Queen's love for these dogs and her connection with them throughout her life! It's hard to resist their adorable faces...
Although these breeds have come out on top, that doesn’t mean others aren’t equally as affectionate. Karen Wild, dog behaviourist, had this to say: 'Though every dog is different, every single one wants to be loved, and when they are, they will return that love ten-fold. They can show affection in so many more ways than the obvious tail wagging and licking our faces.
'Many dogs tilt their heads when they’re keen and can show their bond with us by resting their head on our knee or seeking us for a sofa snuggle.

'It’s important to understand how your dog shows affection so you can return it for a loving and happy partnership – there really is no relationship like it!'
The study also found that 56 per cent of owners have revealed that their dogs prefer hearing a female voice. Turns out they’re not just man’s best friend!
