Ross Kemp confesses he didn't have children because he was 'selfish' and wishes he became a dad ’10 years younger’
EastEnders star Ross Kemp is a dad of four, but says he wishes he’d had children when he was younger.
Ross Kemp marred his wife Renee O’Brien in 2012, and they currently have Leo, four, and two-year-old twins Ava and Kitty. Ross also has an eight-year-old son with ex Nicola Coleman.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ross said: ‘I'm very happy I've got my children and wouldn't have it any other way. I could have done it about a decade earlier though, I should've done.’
On 29th September 2017, Ross uploaded a sweet picture to Twitter of him cuddling his twin girls. The caption simply read: ‘My girls and me’.

Ross also admitted he was ‘quite selfish’ before, saying: ‘I was old, I was in my 40s, I was quite selfish before, in terms of you put yourself first, you look at what's going to be best for you and that totally goes out the window when you have children, you put your children way in front of everything you do.’
He added: ‘You don't earn money for you so you can buy yourself a nice car or live in a big house you make money so you can guarantee your children a better life, a safe life, a secure life.’

Ross has a very busy schedule, and admits you can never have the ‘perfect balance’ when it comes to work and home life. He said: 'It’s not about putting one in front of the other. it’s just working, prioritising what’s best for your children, if I don't work, that's not good for them.'

Speaking about his oldest son, Ross admits he has to sleep on a hard mattress next to him otherwise he ‘gets scared’. The star joked it was like ‘being back in Belmarsh’, referencing a documentary he recently presented.
During this documentary, Ross got unique access to the notorious Belmarsh prison, and went behind bars to find out what happens behind the scenes. During this time, Ross got the opportunity to speak with inmates and staff.
Ross also joked that ‘You could make a documentary of the Kemp household’, adding that he’s ‘the last one in the pecking order’.
Ross Kemp and Renee are busy with their young family, but still make time for quality time together. He said: ‘We go to yoga, and on the way back, if we're lucky, we fit in a quick Japanese meal.’
