Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash finally break silence on engagement and marriage rumours

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have finally broken their silence on rumours they got engaged or married during a recent holiday to the Maldives.

Fans of the couple were convinced they had tied the knot or that TV star Joe had popped the question.

Loose Women panellist Stacey’s followers began speculating after she shared a family snap in which Joe can be seen wearing a ring.

Their five-month-old son Rex and Stacey’s other children Zachary, 11, and Leighton, 7, are also dressed smartly in the photo, wearing waistcoats and bow ties while posing on the beach, making fans think they had attended some sort of wedding or engagement celebration.

But in sad news for those hoping the couple had taken things to the next step, Joe and Stacey took to social media to shut down the rumours.

Chatting on Instagram Stories, they explained, "We just need to clear this up because I didn't realise while we were away. Loads of people have messaged and commented saying they thought we had got married. We didn't get married. We wouldn't secretly get married anyway because I'd be so over the moon about it I'd tell everyone.

“All our family would be there like Joe’s family and my family would be there if we were gonna get married.”

Going on to clear up the ring wearing situation, Stacey added, “Joe’s rings he wears are not wedding rings.”

“They’re my dad’s things he passed away when I was 11 so I war them for luck,” Joe chipped in, before hinting that marriage is certainly on the cards for the future.

“I’m sure once we get married I’ll replace it with a wedding ring.”

“Sorry everyone for being not married,” Stacey joked.

We're so ready for a Swash Solomon wedding!
