Victoria Beckham’s 45th birthday wasn’t all glamour, but she took it in her stride.
You might expect the children to wake you up early on their birthdays, but on your birthday you deserve a lie-in, right? Well, spare a thought for Victoria Beckham, whose 45th birthday began with a 6am wake-up call from kids Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. And husband David, who was there to document the moment and share it with 55 million Instagram users.
Last year, Victoria opened up about family life amidst rumours her marriage was on the rocks. But as the former Spice Girl turned 45 yesterday, the Beckham clan looked tighter than ever.
Her day started with her husband posting a hilarious picture of her wearing a bathrobe and no makeup, complete with bed hair, to his Instagram stories. David captioned the picture: ‘When the kids wake u up at 6am on your birthday. Happy Birthday @victoriabeckham’.
We have to say, she still looked pretty glam, if ever-so-slightly miffed at her early call time.
But breakfast out with the family soon cheered her up. Well, who could resist a birthday breakfast donut, complete with candle? Apparently not even the usually health-conscious Victoria. Again, David was on hand to capture the moment for the couple’s fans, sharing an adorable video of the family singing Happy Birthday to Instagram.
Later on, the group had dinner at Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Victoria shared a photo from the dinner to her own Instagram page, writing: ‘The most beautiful day with my favourite people in the world xxx I Love you so so so much xxx kisses from a very loved mummy and wife x’.
It was the third in a hat-trick of indulgent birthday meals for the fashion designer. The night before her birthday, Victoria had already been out celebrating with friends, including Maria Sharapova, who’d posted a clip of Victoria tucking into her birthday cake to Instagram. Victoria then shared the video herself, writing: ‘Early birthday dinner with friends! Kisses.’
No wonder she wasn’t too happy about that 6am wake-up call…
