Gwyneth Paltrow praised for setting a fantastic example to her kids with ex-husband Chris Martin

The pair were praised for setting a 'great example'

Gwyneth Paltrow and her former husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, have been praised for setting a 'great example' for their children as they continue to function as a happy family despite their split three years ago, and Gwyneth's new serious relationship.

The Hollywood actress and award-winning singer Chris Martin announced in 2014 that after 10 years of marriage they were 'consciously uncoupling' and had decided to split.

The couple have two children, Apple who is now 13 and Moses who is 11, and have remained focused on raising their children together since their split.

Now the A-list couple have been praised by fans for setting a 'great example' for their kids as 'good role models' by adapting to their new 'modern' family set-up in the best possible way.

The comments came after Gwyneth uploaded a new photograph to Instagram showing ex-husband Chris enjoying brunch with her and her boyfriend of three years Brad Falchuck.

Showing the pair smiling kindly, Gwyn captioned the picture 'Sunday brunch' with the hashtag '#modernfamily.'

The star's followers were quick to comment on the picture, and praise the former married couple for their maturity and ability to still function as a happy family despite their divorce.

'It's lovely that you're all getting along and your children can see that' commented one fan, whilst another agreed: 'Great example to your kids and others.'

'Clearly you're approaching your future in a very adult way and your children are very lucky to have such good role models' added another, while someone else wrote: 'If only more families were this loving!'

Previously Gwyneth has admitted that she and Chris had worked 'really hard' after their split to become good friends - something which is clearly successful and has paid off.

'We've worked really f*cking hard to get to [this] point' she said. 'But we're very, very close, and it's so nice. I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have.'
