  • Vegan food is becoming increasingly popular.

According to The Vegan Society, the demand for meat-free food has risen by 987 per cent just in the past year.

    And supermarkets are catching on.

Any Iceland fans who follow veganism will no doubt already know of the supermarket’s popular vegan range.

In the past, the frozen food specialists have released a No Bull range of burgers, mince and meatballs, No Porkies sausages and chorizo slices and No Chick crispy strips and paella.

Now the popular supermarkets is extending their range with one of the nation’s favourite foods – pizza.

Their No Cheese pizzas are the latest addition to the supermarket’s varied vegan range and what’s even more exciting is that they’re even offering two different options of the Italian classic.

In a UK supermarket first, their No Cheese Houmous Pizza swaps a tomato sauce base for a houmous sauce base, topped with seasoned crispy kale and tomatoes.

Or, if you prefer more traditional flavours in your pie, their Tuscan Garden pizza promises to tastes like it came straight from the villages of Italy.

Topped with broccoli, mushrooms and tomatoes the pizza uses a classic tomato sauce base to give you the full Friday night takeaway experience.

And to give them an even more authentic taste, both of the pizzas are stone baked in wood-chip fired ovens.

You can get your hands on the range now in stores and on the frozen food grocer’s website.

‘After the success of our vegan range and the surge in demand for plant based options from customers, we are thrilled to be offering vegan pizzas,’ said Iceland’s Head Chef, Neil Nugent.

‘We wanted to offer Iceland shoppers authentic, Italian inspired, plant-based pizzas which do not simply replicate non-vegan alternatives.

We source our ingredients from the best suppliers and ensure all of our pizzas are made using traditional methods, guaranteeing that even our plant-based pizzas are as authentically Italian as possible.’
