KitKat Chunky has undergone a number of transformations in recent years, including a New York Cheesecake flavour in 2017 and Cookie Dough in 2016.

And this month, the chocolate bar has had its annual makeover with a new Salted Caramel Fudge flavour – yum!

The new KitKat Chunky is already available in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, and will be available everywhere from August 20.

KitKat’s brand manager Natasha Lawless said: ‘KitKat fans love exciting new combinations and flavours from their favourite brand, and with the ongoing popularity of salted caramel, we thought it was only right to bring this salty-sweet combination to KitKat Chunky.

‘Following the incredible success of KitKat Chunky New York Cheesecake and KitKat Chunky Cookie Dough, this year’s bar has all the credentials to be yet another smash hit.’

The Nestle UK website calls the new bar: ‘a delicious combination of crispy wafer with a salted caramel fudge flavoured topping, covered in milk chocolate.’

The brand added that the packaging is inspired by a retro sweet shop design with turquoise stripes.

KitKat Chunky has been a global favourite since it launched in 1999. Over the years, it’s proved popular with new flavours such as Peanut Butter, Hazelnut, Coconut and Chocolate Fudge.

This year, Nestle UK has already revealed two revamps to their KitKat ranges, including three new posh flavours of KitKat Senses – hazelnut, double chocolate and salted caramel – back in February.

Two months later, the food and drink giant revealed their new gorgeous Ruby version of the standard four-finger KitKat, following the news that a new kind of pink chocolate had been produced in 2017.

Developed by Barry Callebaut, the world’s largest cocoa processor, ‘Ruby’ chocolate is claimed to be the first new natural colour for chocolate since Nestle unveiled white chocolate more than 80 years ago.
