Ackley Bridge actress Sunetra Sarker has married her partner of six years
Ackley Bridge actress Sunetra Sarker has married her long-term partner Scott Carey.
The former Casualty star, who left the popular daytime show in 2016 after playing Dr. Zoe Hanna for nine years, took to social media to reveal her happy news.
In a sweet post on Instagram, the Safe House star shared a picture of her and her new husband sharing an intimate kiss on their wedding day.
With no caption, Sunetra left the heart-warming photo to speak for itself, but that didn’t stop friends and fans flooding the post with messages of well-wishes and congratulations.
‘Congratulations to you both xx’, wrote one follower, while another commented: ‘You look absolutely gorgeous and happy’.
‘What a pleasure it was to be involved,’ wrote the happy couple’s florist. ‘Congratulations again to both of you!’
In a post on their own Instagram page, which accompanied beautiful photos of the day, they went on to add: ‘@isunetra & her husband to be, Scott were a really lovely couple who had amazing ideas for their truly unique wedding, the brief was ‘Indian-Western Fusion’.

‘The colours reflected the Indian heritage with a little nod to Scott’s Scottish family with the Eryngium (the blue thistle) and the style reflected the western ‘country’ style of rustic, loose arrangements.
‘The vibe of the whole few days was relaxed, colourful, full of love & amazing cultural diversity & we are very proud to have been involved.’
The 45-year-old’s friends and co-stars were also present at the wedding, with the beautiful bride’s on-screen daughter from Ackley Bridge posting a photo of her in her wedding outfit commenting: ‘The most beautiful bride you ever did see’.
Sunetra, who has been dating Scott for the past six years, has been previously married but split from her husband of six years before appearing in the 12th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
This happy news comes two years after the Broadchurch star said that she would not marry simply to make other people happy.
'I feel married, but, although I have a yearning to call Scott my husband, I don't want a wedding just to prove to other people how happy we are,' she said.
'Also, part of me worries it might jinx or ruin things in some way and make us take our relationship for granted,' she revealed.
'I honestly never imagined being as content emotionally as I am today, and all the decisions I've made since I was 40 have led to me now being at my most peaceful and fulfilled.'
The couple, who run food-waste tackling business, Keep Me Fresh, together, met through college and then again by chance after they were both divorced.
'It was like a thunderbolt for us both at that reunion and we had such a connection, we knew we'd be together forever.'
Congratulations Sunetra and Scott!
