Kym Marsh has spoken for the first time about her split from boyfriend of two years Matt Baker.
The Coronation Street actress confirmed recent reports that the couple had gone their separate ways, just two months after purchasing a £500,000 home together.
But despite their relationship ending, Kym insisted that the decision to end their relationship was completely amicable and she and Matt will ‘stay friends’.
‘Sadly, the reports are true,’ the 41-year-old told OK! Magazine.
‘We still care for each other, we’ll stay friends and I’m sure we’ll be a part of each other’s lives in the future.
‘Now we each just want to focus on our families, our work and our friends as we move forward.’

The star, who is a loving mum to David, 23, Emilie, 21, and Polly, seven - first got together with Matt, 27, in 2015, a year after her split from former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.
When news of their split first circulated over the weekend, reports claimed that a main contributing factor was the pressure of buying the three-bedroom country home together while juggling their busy working lives.
A source told The Sun: ‘They wanted this to work out and have spent weeks trying to work through the issues but, sadly, it just wasn’t to be.
‘In the end, they both agreed it was for the best that they go their separate ways despite buying a house together so recently.’
It was also reported that their careers played a part in their separation, with personal trainer Matt working hard on opening a new restaurant, and Kym putting in long hours on set.
The insider added: 'Matt has been working on opening a new restaurant while Kym does very long hours on set with Coronation Street - while also being a committed mum to her children.
'The pressure of moving proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back but they're determined to keep things civilised. It has just been a very upsetting period for everyone involved.'
