Liam Payne has spoken out about his relationship with Girls Aloud star Cheryl, praising her 14-year career and describing her as a 'wonderful, wonderful person'.

The One Direction star has delighted fans by finally opening up about pregnant girlfriend Cheryl, giving some insight into the relationship that has been fascinating the world since they got together.

In an interview with Rollacoaster magazine, Liam, 23, discussed his charmed life commenting on the incredible success he has found not only in fame and fortune, but now in love.

'Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world and she's absolutely amazing. She's been my dream girl since I was younger. She's so ace.'

As he prepares to make his solo debut, the boy band singer praised his girlfriend, who is 10 years his senior, for her knowledge on the industry, noting that Cheryl has 'taken greater steps' than him.

Describing her as a 'wonderful, wonderful person', Liam made it clear what a positive influence Cheryl is on him.

'She is a wonderful, wonderful person and it's amazing to have someone who can relate to so much of things — someone who's taken greater steps than me. Her solo career was amazing. She's been in the industry for 14 years now.'

Liam and Cheryl originally hit headlines, not just because they are high profile A-listers, but because of the 10-year age gap between them.

In his interview, Liam touched on this, admitting that at just 23 years old, he is 'still learning'.

'She fully supports me. We're super happy. It's a very personal, precious time for us. I'm still learning. I'm only 23.'

Cheryl finally confirmed her pregnancy just earlier this month, when she was pictured in a campaign shoot for The Prince's Trust and L'Oreal Paris' collaboration.

The singer looked positively glowing, wearing a figure hugging black dress that showed off her pronounced baby bump.
