Anthea and Mark went public two weeks ago, after they met in March in a private member’s club, but the couple have actually been dating for five months.

Mark popped the question in Rome, where the couple were on holiday together. Anthea told the radio station that they had gone away to celebrate Mark’s birthday.

‘I’ve been looked after very well, I couldn’t be with a better person’, Anthea said about her current relationship.

‘Yes, finally, after all this time – all of this time. He did propose to me in Rome. What a romantic city’, she added.

The former Blue Peter host has been married twice before, with her most recent marriage to Grant Bovey ending when the couple divorced in 2015.

According to The Sun, a friend of Mark’s said: ‘Anthea has had a rocky few years, and had almost given up on finding love again.

‘But she met Mark at London’s Wellington club and they hit it off straight away. He’s half-Italian, very charismatic and good looking - plus a few years younger, which is a boon.

‘He fancied her straight away and they swapped details - Mark immediately asked her out, and it went from there.’

Anthea Turner has even written a book aimed at women struggling with heartbreak, called How To Survive Divorce.

The book was published in 2017 and is described as ‘a well-reseached, well-written, must-have guide for any woman going through the ordeal of divorce’ on Amazon.

Congratulations to Anthea Turner and Mark Armstrong! We hope the wedding planning goes smoothly.
